V4 Aux Lead

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Rodney McCall, Apr 14, 2025.

  1. Hi Folks
What or where is the best place to get a short lead to charge my iPhone from the aux socket?
    Thanks in advance

  2. I'm using this one in my V4S Rally.

  3. I'm presuming you are not electrically/technically aware, as are many of a certain age. The socket on the dash is a DIN type and therefore you need a plug similar to these sold by Ultimate Addons https://ultimateaddons.com/collections/motorcycle-chargers . Then just plug in your charger lead into this.
If you are just after a lead recommendation, then any high quality lead from the likes of Amazon will do.

  5. Ha, yes your bang on with the assumption! I thought maybe someone done a lead that went direct from the DIN socket with the relevant iPhone plug ans opposed to using the adapter. Appreciate your reply. Thanks

  6. There may well be but the danger of that is when Apple change their lead type (all phones are supposed to be going over to a universal lead) then when you buy a new phone, the charger is redundant.
Just be aware that the socket is a smaller DIN type and not the larger cigarette type.

  7. Ultimate Add Ons do (or did) a charger that plugs into the DIN socket and has an Apple Lightning connector. Perfect for the job.

  8. If its for the V4s Multi in the tank pocket I use a 150mm lead from halfords , fits a treat. Other han that the dash socket as others have said .

  9. Didn’t even realise there was an outlet in that pocket as I don’t use it as my phone doesn’t fit in it!

  10. I use a coiled cable which does the job fine with the din adaptor socket. Just search Amazon for the cable.

  11. Don’t the bars hit that on full lock?

  12. No where near.

  13. Yeah mine doesn’t fit either, unless I take the case off.
Got a tank bag though so I can put it in there and charge it

  14. Its a good place to charge a battery pack when touring.

  15. Regarding the DIN adapter, don't cheap out. You'll end up with headaches and a box of dead fuses.

I have the OptiMate 105, only ever had to buy one and it's lasted me years (over 3 Multistradas).

I have the din adapter plugged in, USB cable from it routed through the centre of the handlebars and into the front of my tank bag, giving me a powered cable to charge any device in mind in the tank bag. Nothing beats turning up to a location with everything charged after a full day's riding :D
