2013 Multistrada, dash has started flickering on tickover, stops when on throttle. Front LED indicators don't work, nor do heated grips. Also on tickover the Garmin says its lost power and switches off. I'm thinking regulator/rectifier has failed? If so anyone any experience with after market ones. Genuine £180 Wemoto £60.
I would think a regulator problem, allowing an AC ripple voltage to get through. This will seem to disappear at higher revs as the frequency increases. Probably best with an OEM or a genuine Shindengen MOSFET.
Do turns out it wouldn't run for more than a couple of minutes. When it stopped the battery was so flat even the dash wouldn't come on. I'm hoping the optimate will revive the battery once the new regulator is fitted.
Could just be a bad battery but without testing the battery/regulator it's guesswork. Dash flickering on tick over is a sign of a low/bad battery, that's the sign I use to test/replace mine, they do all sorts of odd things on the more modern bikes.
