Evening all, just purchased a 2013 1200s. Bit of an upgrade from the 800gs but hopefully for the better!
I have had my 2012 1200 for a little over a year. I went from a zzr1100 and the difference was night and day. They are just incredible machines. I a, sure you will love it.
Thanks all. Looking forward to getting it on the road! A bit of the background to this bike, it was bought brand new by the previous owner, rode for just 1 year and has then been parked up in a garage ever since so only has 1300 miles on it. Need to give it a flush through of all fluids and probably change the belts, although they look brand new!
The belt replacement shedule is based on age or mileage, whichever reached first. Varies and is longer on more recent bikes. On the 1260 I believe it's 18000 miles (Desmo service) or 5 years, whichever comes first. For your bike the mileage and time may well be shorter. Whatever, if your bike was ridden for one year then put in storage it's overdue. With bikes left long term, I understand that the belt will take on the shape of their standing static shape. Not ideal when it's run.
