Hi all, trying to find a live feed to wire my sat nav into on a 1260 MTS, and ive got the left cover of the front which is where theres supposed to beba deed, and i cant find anythingbthay looks right, apart from one connector that is wired into a little black box, that looks like some kind of transmitter, but it looks like it's meant to be there. I dontbwant to disconnect it in case its a tracker or something more important. Any help with specific locations on where the actual lead is found please.
Looks like a GPS tracker Edit: Scratch that with a bit of Google's help and the part number it appears to be a bluetooth multimedia module.
So is this a standard part that is required for the bike, and more importantly does this use the power take off, or is the pto somewher else really well hidden?
I think you need to look a little further back, in the space to the left and to rear of the headstock. It's a small white connector that's connected to a short lead that's terminated inside of some heat shrink. It's somewhat tucked away. You need to disconnect at the connecter and dip the terminated end into a cup of just boiled water to soften it and hopefully pull the heat shrink off. You then connect this to your sat nav lead and plug back in again.
I think i know where you mean, as theres a connector in there, that looks like it could be the remote fuel tap socket . But bugger me, it doesnt want to come out, as its got a rubber tie around it, but even with that removed and with pliers on it its not coming out, and i dont like forcing things. I'll have another look in the morning, Thanks.
The sat nav/accessory connector is small with quite fine wires, the same as those used on the indicators. You need to press in a particular way with a fine tool to separate it. You can just see the hole (orange) in the connector for this in the video below. It's a bit fiddly...
Found it thanks. I'd already watched that video, and 2 or 3 other posts, in the end t had been shoved so far back into the frame that it had caught on some other wiring and took quite a bit of effort to free it. Not often that something so simple frustrates me, ir even makes me ask for help!
