Ghost Pepper

  1. Has anyone else tried this stuff? I like spicy food and I like good chilli - so when my mate left a bottle of chilli sauce in the office I though I'd give it a go... It's called "Dave's Gourmet Ghost Pepper Naga Jolokia Hot Sauce". This stuff is weapons grade! The tiniest drop on the tongue is physically painful... The label should have been a clue : The strength is listed as "insane + +" and it says "not suitable for people with heart/respiratory problems" - no shit! It's sold by a company in San Fransisco and it's made in Costa Rica. By f**k it's HOT!

  3. yeah the ghost shilli is one of the strongest hybrid chillies out there. the main use for naga strain chillies is for the use in non lethal weapons, ie pepper sprays and tear gas, so no wonder it packs a bit of a kick!

  5. It is damn hot! A friend of mine loves his chilli sauce and that's the only one that he says is "hot enough" for him.
    I tried it and it made my mouth numb for about an hour! Not much fun :tongue:

    I bought it for him from a local food store, was about £6 iirc. I'd seen it before on t'internet but was always stupid-expensive.
    Worth keeping an eye out for.

  10. I soak toilet paper with it, so I can wipe & moisturise at the same time...

    We have some of this sauce. It does have quite an amusing, yet tangy spiceyness. Nice on garlic naan bread (but haven't yet tried wiping & moisturising with that particular combo).

    Use it as a lubricant on SWMBO's tampons. It will take her mind off moaning about your 'quality time on the bike'.....

  17. Bought some 'fiery chilli fudge' from a market stall outside the main entrance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham this morning. Wondered why some people appeared to be in some distress with tears streaming from their eyes? Turned out the lady running the stall had a bowl of samples & most people who tried a taste found it had more of a kick than they bargained for.

    I enjoyed the subtle combination of fudge with chilli, and I don't normally like sweet foods. Bought 2 bags of the chilli fudge & 1 bag of 'lemon chilli fudge'. Should be interesting to see what Her Indoors makes of it???
