Long shot but does anyone know a red 2009 Streetfighter registration LJ09SLV. This is not a question of dealer credibility in the slightest before anyone thinks that, but I would love to contact the previous owner if possible. The previous owner bought the bike new from Pro Twins and had it serviced there earlier in the year, but then didn’t collect it. He apparently travels a lot and Pro Twins stored it for a while. When the owner was eventually contacted, the long and the short of it seems to be that he settled the bill and asked for the bike to be sold as he is out of the country and hardly uses it (super low mileage). Pro twins bought it, and passed it on to a smaller dealer to clear (winter is coming after all) and I am now looking to buy it. Pro Twins confirmed the smaller dealers story (who also has a good reputation from what I can see online) and I believe them both. But… A friend in the trade ran a HPI for me which says the bike was exported July 2010. DVLA do not have a record of this (I have called to check) and I ran a personal HPI which shows nothing adverse (actually specifically says not exported). :| The bike has been serviced twice, but has silly low miles and the first service was in 2012 with the second in 2013 which is a little odd, but ties in with the story of the absentee owner. With there being no MOT due for 3 years that is 3 years with no record of mileage... The bike has been described as “10 out of 10” by Pro Twins who have no financial interest in whether I buy the bike or not which is comforting, so I am not expecting to go and see a 10k miler that has been clocked and looks tatty. A ratty bike with this niggle in my mind would make me walk, but apparently it it like new! Does anyone know the bike, or a potential owner? Does this ring any bells?
thanks mate. I'm a cautious buyer at the best of times (as you probably remember! :wink so if things don't seem to 100% stack up I get suspicious. However, the bike is mint, 1600 miles and 1 owner from new. I also have to add that Protwins and Jim at Bike enders were nothing but transparent and patient
Now the fun begins, I'm sure you'll love the streetfighter. Takes a bit of getting used to after the monster.
I know of Jim at bikenders as he is really local to me and is well respected in the area. Glad you bothered to go and see the bike and ended up buying it and it seems you have had a result.
that registration rings a bell the previous keeper was a courier and the bike ended up under an artic lorry. he did a good job welding that frame back together tho. v.nice haha
