  1. Congrats on the new bike, nice to hear others out there that don't like the look of those style of clutch covers too. How does it sound compared to the usual Termis?

  2. That ride is going to make every passerby jealous:wink:

  3. Have you got luggage?

  4. Will try to do a quick video shoot of her fired-up tomorrow.........full Akrapovic sounds amazing,

  5. :upyeah: Congrats my man,you are gonna absolutely LOVE IT!! The power and grunt is truly awesome and they look sooooo gorgeous!
Still amazes me and brings a massive grin to my face every time I ride mine.Have also had an S1000RR BM and crossplane R1 for a while over the last couple of years but no contest compared to my 1098R !! Its definitely a keeper! ENJOY

  6. Today hasn't gone to plan unfortunately. My grand scheme to rack up a few hundred miles on her failed miserably. Struggled to turn over on the starter, and completely refused to fire up into life, so i've whipped off the battery so it can have an intimate session with the Optimate overnight. At least, i think it's a battery issue, and so did Moto-Rapido. Hope it's dry tomorrow.......altthough at the moment, i just hope it bloody starts tomorrow! Please be dry tomorrow, cold i can handle, but wet, no thanks!

  7. just removed the alarm from my bike as its a bollox of a thing and drains the battery.

  8. Well, the battery was fully charged up over 24hours and the sodding thing still won't start.

Had a rather large backfire and that was it.

Maybe it's just having an "Italian moment"..........must admit if someone told me I had to work in this weather I'd refuse to start too.

Back to the dealer you go! Just hoping its nothing serious.

    Not a great weekend.

  9. Just been out for my first blip on the 1098R........amazing!

Utterly insane, great fun, handles like nothing i've ridden before........perfect!

bit chilly though, even with thermals under my leathers, but hey, great fun all the same. Went from Moto-Rapido to loomies, then home from there. Had great fun, best investment ever!

  10. What was up with the bike then mate? Was it a popped relay? Or something else?

    Glad your enjoying it :)

  11. Apparently it was the idiot (me) trying to start it with a bit of throttle (like i had to do with my 848Evo).

Flooded it out, battery died, was then re-charged but she still refused to start even with no throttle. Moto-Rapido collected her, sorted her out and now she's firing up off the button in 1-2 seconds. Perfect.......lesson learnt.

  12. twat.

    sorry lucky twat........enjoy,id love one.

  13. I never use any throttle with mine, sometimes she starts immediately and sometimes needs to crank for 4-6 seconds. Glad it's all sorted.

  14. Does it have the press and don't hold feature?
I thought my solenoid was sticking!

  15. Hi Nelson,
On the 1098R you have to hold the starter button in until it fires, i did wonder at first if it had the "press once and don't hold in" on some of the other 1098's, but apparently Ducati stopped it due to various "issues".

It fires up nicely now, but i'm going to upgrade the starter wiring anyway, as the starter motor seems to struggle a bit still.

  16. I always press the starter button on mine and after a couple of "turn overs" twist the throttle a smidge and then she fires up every time. From warm no throttle.
