Received an email recall in Italian, German and French not English today. Apparently the cable from the rear wheel sensor to the accelerometer is malfunctioned and is to be replaced. The rear shock damping apparently just goes into a mid setting safe mode.
How do you find the skyhook? I wonder if mine actually has malfunctioned because Im not too impressed, still get thrown out of the saddle over potholes.
Have noticed faster I go better it is. On touring, its like any other suspension around town but at say 90 you hit a pothole or eye on the road, bump whatever and it reacts really well. Tbh it is no where near as plush as I was sold around town over speed humps 'you dont even notice them' my arse ;-)
Same as me then, I agree it gets better the faster you go, there are some wierd feedback feelings around slow roundabouts if you hit a bad patch of last years winter damages tarmac. but I couldnt agree more with your last statement lol.
oh I dunno Bradders, it's very good over the ones I have around me. Granted, I'm usually standing up and not hanging around, but it's good...
Don't get me wrong its way better than my sports bikes were! And I ride town stuff on urban mode so I can touch the floor easier ;-( lol
Without sounding stupid, does it actually lower the suspension? The bike feels much lower to me, I've had it in Urban mode 90% of the time I've owned it (a week tomorrow lol) and ride it to work every day. It feels much smaller than I remember. Both feet easily planted flat on the floor and I'm able to stand up and have the bike between my thights at the lights... I'm 6'2".
Yes it does. Start your bike and flick through the various riding modes and you will see the back rise and fall.
Think its more to do with ore load for me but stand back and stick it in enduro and it defo looks like it lifts..but like I say this could be more it dialling preload out
Got my recall letter in English today, bike is booked in on Wednesday, is it a replacement cable or just a re-route?
Had mine done Friday and it is the sensor and cable - takes about an hour, the new sensor and cable is about 10cm longer than the old one and is routed a different way so it wont get pulled tight and possibly break.
It is adjusting the preload, which has the knock on affect of changing the ride height. It is also changing the compression and rebound damping base setting, the latter of which is dynamically adjusted once you are on the move by the DSS.
Just a reroute. My accelerometer 'failed' a couple of months back and was changed (probably unnecessarily). Part cost £800 apparently.
Slight side question but do I have to take it to the dealer I bought it from or will any Ducati dealer do the recall for me?
Just received my recall email. Is there any time limit to get this done, or can I wait until the next service, most likely next Summer? Everything is working at the moment.
Just wondering..... does it say 'recall' on the letters? I asked the guy at the Ducati stand at the NEC and he said it was a 'bulletin' and was not an urgent thing and could be done at the next service.
