which one would you keep 2004 998bp 34000 miles or 2001 996r 16000 miles. both are coming up to 2 year service, one has to go, i do about 5000 miles a year.:frown:
For me the 996, it will be/ is better value for money. They are also holding there price nicely the 998 with the 34 tho miles ? So sell that. 996 is a keeper.
Erm...well the bip will be work feck all and the R worth some dosh so depends how much you need the money, coz an R is an R and its not a tough decision if all equal, is it?!
Couldn't you mothball the R (if they're holding their price) and have the 998 serviced. Or is that not an option?
Thats what I'd do if I had the choice. Put the miles on the 998 and when funds allow get the R back out.
C'mon fellas, the R is there to be ridden not mothballed and stuck in the garage! Remember, just like a listed building, an R is often almost as much pleasure for others looking at it as it is owning and riding it
Sell me the R for a ludicrously low price, and everybody's happy (in my house, anyway). but, as said above, if you need the money desperately, then the R should fetch somewhere closer to £10k, than the 998bip, which should probably fetch somewhere around the £5k mark, and the R should continue to appreciate.
I have a mate who is starting to look at bikes, possibly even a 998, make sure you post the details up here when you have them ready?
