I'm rebuilding the bottom end of the 851. I was going to this place for the mains, Special Offers who offer the genuine RHP bearings for £68 inc post for the pair. BUT. . . . they no longer have stock and won't have any until 2015. Apparently RHP make the bearings in batches. So it's dealer or specialist only. Anyone any good advice on a good price. Moto Rapido offer them on Ebay for £150 a pair. You can only use the genuine RHP ones, as the others of the same size use different angular contact and aren't rated for such a high speed
thanks, i've emailed them. I suspect it will be dealer only tho. I've yet to find a bearing dealer who can supply, they say they can get them, that it until I ask them to check! Phil
I had a good luck with SKF. Try to call their office and have a list of part numbers ready. I have called their branch in Luton when I was visiting friends over there in the morning and by the afternoon I could pick the package up from their office.
What is the bearing reference ? I use the local branch of Brammer who have been brilliant and I'm reasonably sure there will be an alternative to the RHP. SKF do a wide range of specialist application bearings. Andy
If you know the bearing sizes & references - try 'simmplybearings.co.uk' I used them for my SKF replacement rear wheel & sprocket bearings and they provided an excellent service. There web site is quite good too - I am sure there is an SKF equivalent to the old RHP OEM bearings.
Only RHP make bearings for this application. I can't remember exactly but SKF do not do an equivalent. Angular contact bearings are 25 or 40deg if I remember correctly. The RHP ones are 18deg. While you may get ones that are the same size, they are not the same contact angle and speed rating Yes- I used Brammer at work, they're good, but they're prices even with our company discount aren't as good as Simply Bearings or Bearingboys
interestingly I called by Brammer today. They have quoted, £564 for the 8 bearings in the engine and 3 of the seals. At that price I'll probably buy double and then I'll have some spares for a rainy day. I kid you not the mains they quoted on were £380 for the pair. Dealer is only £150. just who's kidding who!
I think mine come from Kent Bearings for the 999 (mains) Made by RHP Bearings. 7207 X2 ETN and 7307 X2 ETN They were £70odd for both iirc They have to have the suffix show, as that denotes speed rating, cage design and contact angle.
That sounds right, did you buy them recently? that sounds better, these are the same price as thebearingshop, tho' they don't have any stock until 2015! mine are both marked 7207x2TB and 7307x2TB However I have seen other references to them of ETN and ETN9 at the end.
F-E It's hard to say. This 851 wasn't registered until 2000 IIRC and it's done about 25k kms' so, could well be original. certainly they're the original spec numbers. Home I guess? I'll give them a try tomorrow Nelson Erik's? ERIKS Industrial Products ERIKS Industrial Services Limited ? Have you bought main bearings from them? There are lots of places around but i've found very few that have the proper RHP ones
If you have original bearings in there, one of them has been superseded. Not sure if the bearing ID changed, but the part number certainly did. Can't recall which one, but i can check tomorrow.
I have a engineering company, and all our bearings come from Hayleys, they do all the main makes RHP, SKF etc
