tell me about tablets………..

If you've already sold your soul to Apple then stick with them, personally i prefer Android though

 

This tells you much more about the power of Apple marketing than it does the competencies of Android.

I've had various iPhones amd now have a Samsung Galaxy S3. I'll never go back to the restrictive apple set up! However, I love my ipod and have iTunes on my notebook. My wife has a galaxy tab 2, and my 7 year old daughter has a little android tablet for her games. I love the Samsung stuff, for me Apple are just very clever at marketing a nice package!

 

you have hit the nail in the head, people who understand what an "open source" is buy Android, the rest of us who have no idea what you are talking about love the design and functionality of an ipad.

 

Apple may be clever, but Android just releases little drops of functionality without announcing them. Clever marketing as you're always learning something new about your device. Keeps your interest.

 

I have an iPad 2 and a mini...

I recently bought the Nexus 7 2013 version (2nd generation). The screen quality is just unmatched.

Not to mention, I was then able to put a custom operating system which made it fly along. Which appeals to the geek that I am.

 

Is it better than an Apple Retina screen? (which is a lot better than the one on the iPad 2 or Mini).

 

The Nexus is the highest resolution 7inch tablet if it's own advertising is to be believed. But I would imagine that after the first 5 minutes you'd forget about the resolution and get on with the content. Which in my opinion is where apple win.

 

if you already have the apple computer and the iPhones, then you are better off with the iPad.
seamless integration across devices with iCloud, will make it a no brainer.

Sure android devices will always be more versatile due to their open source nature but if you live in universe apple you probably do things the way that apple want you to do them anyway, so open source will be secondary to looking awesome sauce.

If nothing else, think of it this way, your apple device will always sell for far more than its actually worth when you come to upgrade vs a generic android device.

I bought two Ipad air's for my now adult children , they love em , I love em and what with having an Iphone last year its Apple for me from now on . So simple with no hassle.
