My have been bought up before, to be honest I am a little lazy searching but 2014 Paint seems to be: Pikes Peak GT Grey or Red Touring Matt Chrome or Red No black or white in either GT or Touring? Have I missed something or are those the only choices?
Original colours across the range were White and Red, with Black only offered for the S & S-Touring. in 2011 the Pikes Peak was introduced. in 2012 Titanium was introduced, and Pikes Peak paint scheme changed. (I think matt silver may have also come in this year, cant recall). in 2013 Both Black and White were discontinued, and new colours for the range introduced. Only Red remained the same. Hope that helps.
Thanks John, that hits the nail on the head. Currently I own a black S Touring. I am sorely tempted by the GT but I would so have loved it in Black. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I would not do red (The Slowest) and I am not sure if I like the Touring Grey. I think I need to go and test ride one with Skyhook to get it out of my system once and for all and if I like it enough I might go for the GT in Grey............I am so torn on whether to change of not..........hmmmmmm
lol, tell me about it  I am not keen on the two different shades of grey for the touring and GT. If they still did white I might have changed last year, but couldn't bring myself to buy a bike in a colour I didnt like, and simply dont want a red one. You might have seen my post elsewhere as to what I've done, which is to buy a new unreg'd 2012 in titanium (a colour i'm not overly keen on ) but at a cracking price, and then paint it the way I want it Personally I like the way the ohlins bike rides, and not so keen on the skyhook, so it was my best solution, not least because I can move all the bits across from my current bike. As a guide, to paint all the plastics would set you back around 600 quid.
RED is the only and fastest colour for a Ducati. As is BRG for a Jag or lotus. Next you'll be asking for a transit in another colour than White!
My Red 2014 GT Well I can confirm against all roomers that the Red 2014 GT multi is not mat red. it's hi gloss like the other red bikes. This is mine after a trip to Devils Bridge And picking her up when she was clean
JCMental, how come your panniers and top box are not the same colour as the bike ? All other bikes I have seen, they match. AirConTechnical, I've had a number of other ducatis before so done the red thing. I am bored with red now, and like to be different. I often get called 'different' As for the Transit being white, what colour should a vivaro be ?
I dunno, other than it being red I think the black panniers work well. To much red and you would look like a big barge! As got the GT in grey...I don't dislike it, I'm just not head of heels with it either but it is something I could learn to live with. I am gonna see if I can test one this weekend, or at least something with Skyhook too just to see how it feel compared to the Ohlins. I like to feel the suspension working and knowing what is going on and the 'perception' I have of Skyhook at the moment is that it takes some of this away form you.
seems odd to me. I bought larger lids for my panniers and they came in white as ordered. My mate ordered large panniers rather than the regular ones for his red bike, and got red ones. Maybe its a stock / cost reduction...
I may be wrong and open to being corrected but don't you have to really abuse the bike to know the skyhook is there I've seen many skyhook Mulitstrada doing wheelies or is it easily over ridden ?
First off as far as I know the panniers are the 75ltr sides and the 40ltr top box since the launch of the S GT's they have always come in all black with soft liner/carry bags, you can buy colour coded lids for them but they don't come as standard on the S GT. Next the DTC DSS and the FbW throttle are all customisable to your preference you don't have to keep the factory pre-set's if you don't want to, and no the Sky hook doesn't affect wheelie. If any thing I the only thing I have noticed is how smooth it makes the roads around Cumbria feel and how you don't seem to dive much on the front end under heavy braking, and under heavy acceleration the back end doesn't squat like my R1 did, even with the wife on the back, although you cant slam the throttle open with a pillion on unless there Velcro'ed to your back. In all I'd say the bike feels VERY stable in most circumstances, although I don't know if that's down to the DSS or if there all like it as I've only ever ridden mine.
It's the only way Ducati could sell the GT so cheaply....... Agree it's a pity they don't do the Black/white or other anymore.
I don't call 17k + cheap But to be honest I don't think I'd of liked colour coded panniers that big, In my minds I they look tacky way to much paint.
Sorry....looks very similar to a Red 2010 model. From a 2013 Matt grey GT owner! Great bike tho!
