Moto-vation - Cheltenham

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Banus, Jan 14, 2014.

1. Guys,

Can anyone confirm if Tim HYETT who runs Moto-vation just outside Cheltenham is still live and kicking. Probaly due to the pressures of work, he never replies to texts / answers calls so I don't want a long ride over to see him / book my bike in for a belt service, to find he's not operating any longer.

2. He last posted on Twitter on 12th December. Cannot find a web site though. Andy

3. A mate who has used him for years, mentioned that he might have been on the look out for new premises. I'll send my mate a text now

4. Just had a reply he was supposed to be moving to a unit just off the Bath Road (so not far from where he is now), should be same number.
I was in Cheltenham today & now I've got a Ducati again I wanted to see Tim, he use to do a few bits to my 916 in his Fowlers days (late 90's) & more recently I had my Triumph MOT'd at the place next door. Shame I hadn't spotted this this morning

5. He's a top bloke but a victim of his own success - always maga busy. The last time we spoke he was working 6 days a week 8am - 8pm. You can do that for so long.

6. Did you get hold of him? My parents & sister both live in Cheltenham & I'm only a few miles away, so...

7. 2GOOD - Not yet but no great urgency. Waiting for the service indicator tool to appear on the dash first and it wont be long. Can you tell me will the service indicator tool (little spanner) illuminate after a period of time even if the bike isn't used?

8. service indicator comes on after mileage (or more technically kilometrage) not time

9. The little spanner appeared on my bike a couple of hundred miles after a service. I ignored it (mainly cos I was in France at the time) and it’s done a couple of thousand since then and it’s still running as sweet as a nut. I reckoned it was probably a problem with the monitor rather than what the monitor was monitoring (if you get my drift).

Tim has only had my bike once but he did a good job and on my limited experience I would recommend him. I think Banus is right "victim of his own success - always mega busy".

10. I can vouch for Tim also
Highly recommended

11. Tim Hyett Cheltenham still going.

Hi. I don't have Ducati yet but i register here to tell you that Tim Hyett at Moto Vation in Cheltenham is still going strong, he just did 12k service for my daytona 955i. Very happy with the service. Tim is a good guy. Busy as usual. And yes he will be moving in to new place soon. I see him often while shopping and when i am on my bike an pass his place i always pop in and see him, he is always busy.

12. He works next door to me, Battledown Trading Estate

13. Morning all, I know your posts were back in 2014 but I guess it will help other people looking for Tim Hyett. Tim has moved premises now, hes over on the other side of Cheltenham now, just off Hales Road. He's also got a website now moto-vationracing.uk which is a holding page for his contact info.

Cheerio
