Anyone clever enough to make these?

Those who've got them will know this is one of the mounts for a corse style tank on a 748-998.
The round threaded part fitting inplace of the front airbox bolt, and the slotted cup type part mounts to the tank and slides onto the bolt part holding the front of the tank to the frame.

Anyway, I need a pair of these making up if anyone's got the skills, I can't find new or used ones anywhere. Rich at Louigi Moto has also said if the price is right he might be interested in 5 pairs so I'm hoping it's worth someones trouble to have a go.
I've only borrowed this one set but will post it out to anyone who can copy them providing it comes back.
Once I've got these I'll be able to post some interesting news I hope. I'm just finishing butchering a carbon tank to give a larger airbox but obviously smaller petrol volume. I'll be able to do back to back dyno tests showing what difference the extra volume makes as a single change in its own right. I'm already near the maximum HP a 996 can make without replacing engine parts every week so it could make things worse, but you here will be amongst the first to know. If I can get a pair of these made that is. Someone please help.

  2. Look up ti64pete he could be able to help.

    brian.

  3. Ah, a good idea, but one i've tried and got nowhere with. I haven't thought about putting it the wanted section here though which would've been a good starting point i guess.

  4. If you are realy stuck There is a guy called "BG Wells" on the MV AGusta .net site that makes some amazing parts and he is UK based

  5. The hardest part of the machining is the slot in the block.

  6. That's what I've thought. It's not flat either but goes down on a slight angle. If it comes to it I've got dremmel type thing so could cobble something together but it'll probably take me all season to do it.

  7. I might be able to help. Can you do some drawings?

  8. Hi Danger. I'll get some drawings done at work next week. It'd be great if you could help with any of it really because anything machine shop wise is just out of my league. Thanks for giving me hope, even if it turns out you cant help. Thx Paul

  9. give final_edition a shout, I have a mate in surrey with a mill etc, but he's in Canada at the mo

  10. I could probably make them, although it will be when I can fit it in.

I think I will struggle with the slot in the block, maybe DM has an idea to mill that out. Otherwise it's going to need broaching but doing the slot at the back may prove tricky.

You would need to anodise/plate them yourself tho'

  11. Thanks FE. It's nice to know I've got options. Even though the flat piece is causing those in the know some head aches, I've looked at it and thought my drill and dremmel could get it done. Just shows how green i am really and i know I'd never get 2 matching parts that way but they might function. It was turning the round part that I know I'd get nowhere with. As for the finish, i'm not too bothered. My whole bike is a fuction over form thing so even rusty steel would be ok.

  12. Easy enough to do with the right size Tee slot cutter.

  13. Ok, firstly thanks for the help guys and i've got dimentioned drawings of the parts now, but last week while buying bits for my TL 1000 I bumped into a chap who makes parts for the Red Bull F1 team. He seems capable of making anything it's just time that might be short. So for now anyway he's got both parts and unless anyone wants the drawings to make their own, or get a heads up on if you think it's possible yourselves I can kind of park this thread for now. FWIW they're no longer available, and the last set I saw for sale was £180. I'll let you all know how things go. If he can't make them and someone here can I can see an F1 future on the cards for you.
