Meeting at bikers world is a good idea but im not sure if I could make that time yet.

Either way, +1 for getting as many Ducati riders there at once.

 

Ok then lets call it 7pm at Bikers World for those going past and the Mcdonalds carpark after that.

Snippet in MCN last week. Police and a Staffs Councillor wanting to restrict size/close down this meet.... sad really. Been going for years, in general no problems. Odd incident here and there - but a sad fatality a few years ago. Good business for pub and MacDs. A great meet as a rule. Hope they will lay off. They got the Waterman meet moved, now this...

Well I saw them resurfacing the car park Saturday so I hope it was all nice & sparkly for tonight.
TBH something needs to be done as if the weather is good the whole place is a no-go area.
No-one can get onto or off the pub or McD's if they are in a car - you get lorries parking up there as well for an overnight.
Its too popular for its own good.

 

It was nice and smooth

Instead of us they stop they should stop the cars if there is a good turn out for the protection of the bikes as lets face it, there are other mcdonalds drive throughs. Marshals are needed too but they seem to want to take our money but not "admit" it is an organised event and provide any sort of marshalling. I have seen it much busier than the other week when people were stopped getting in and congestion was only created by the cars & big rigs.

Saying that, the air ambulance was there tonight which was really cool.

The other week the old bill wouldnt let people in even after it was half empty = just another excuse to try and kill the event.

This year there seem to be more and more cars turning up which in my eyes is wrong. They should maybe have access to the carpark at the pub and forget the mcdonalds as the layout of the carpark creates access problems.

All the suggestions in the world wont change the fact there is obviously a group of do-gooders in authority trying to curb the perfectly legal activities of a minority group. You cant do anything in this country without some ba5t@rd trying to spoil your fun.

Im sure if the worse did happen, im sure there are other venues that would like some of our hard earned.....

Oh and so far, ive never had a problem getting in, even when very busy. A bit of patience always goes a long way.

Popular is ok, popular with the wrong types of people is obviously bad. For me, thats the chav racers in the cars that should be turned away. Thats what they have Halfords carparks for......

 

I'm from staffs but now living in Cornwall, however I still want to make a journey up to bassetts pole for old times sakes, many from here go???
