  1. unguided missile............with an ego to match and a borderline case of "massive shoulder chip". He will be exciting to watch though.........:upyeah:

  2. As long as he doesn't kill himself.

  3. These road racers never seem to quote cut it on short circuits

  4. I was on about this last weekend oddly enough. I wonder why? Not used to bashing elbows and fairings, more used to riding alone?
Or simply that they're not as good as short circuit racers on the talent front, but just more bloody bonkers??

  5. Didn't he set faster laps than the rest of the team when he did the HRC Endurance racing last season ? He rides the roads like a short circuit anyway so he's had plenty of practice !

  6. Foggy did.

  7. Hmmm Mr Hislop did So did Foggy ! Mc pint was British 250 champ .... Need I go on ......

  8. At least I will be able to watch this race series. How long before that goes ppv?

  9. But watch McPint in a superstock race and he never seems to do well, trust me I'm not knocking any of them. Lets face it RR is far more interesting than short circuit

  10. To succeed on the roads you largely can't ride at 100% every corner, every lap, according to McGuinness, if you do you'll crash and really hurt yourself. On the short circuits you have to ride at 100% every corner, every lap, unless you have such a talent or machine advantage you don't have to. In being a multiple WSB champion, Foggy was probably a cut above most people he was racing against at UK or roads level. It's a bit of a step to go from occasionally having to push to always having to push if you're not used to it, it demands much more physical and mental fitness.

Also, most circuit racers are jockey sized, whereas, being kind, a lot of the road racers aren't. More power makes you faster down the straight, less weight makes you faster everywhere. On the roads this is perhaps less of an issue as the circuits are so fast and long, so a small mistake on the throttle costs you proportionately much less time on a seven mile lap than a two mile one. Apart from Thruxton, Assen and Silverstone, most UK circuits are pretty stop-start in comparison - and at the likes of Knockhill, Cadwell or Brands Indy, do they ever get out of fourth?

  11. 99% of them are only on tack for setup to the TT, MD is the same, he thinks he is better than he is.

  12. lets ask Rossi about Short circuit vs. Road....

I get you on the bollocks thing but if the reverse were in effect (SC guys on the road at TT), I suspect they would be pylons.

  13. This year will be my 23rd year at the TT
And been to the island lots of times just to thrash round for the weekend ;)

But Ive got to disagree MD is Class a bit loose but still very talented & despite what people say he's also Friendly ! He just doesn't put up with shit !!!

If you want to witness his talent watch the Manx from last year & look at the oil that old Suzuki was chucking out ... & he was still charging ;)
Road racers do it because they love it
Not just for the money !
Ever been to the NW 200 ? The amount of people that turn up for free & give their services !!!
I remember watching his Dad riding a Jps norton showing the others round Mallory & Donnington.
To end I enjoy both road & s circuit
But the fooking Pr surrounding Bsb has spoilt it in opinion.
I think Alex lowes could cut it on the rds ;)

  14. A great rider, but midpack imo

  15. I'm with him ^^^ mid pack at best. Be most interesting to see how his style transmits to short circuit as he doesn't seem too worried by elbow stuff.

  16. He's got the gonads and the self-belief to win anywhere. He'll do well.

  17. if he doesn't he blame the bike...look where Guy Martin comes on short track.

  18. Guy Martin flies - literally if you saw his TV series on Speed.

  19. i will make no difference, the bike will get noticed ether way.
