Getting the bike ready....

  1. Well Ive just had my yearly service, so mechanically my bike is pretty much as good as Im going to get it, but for the trip to Italy Ive ordering up a double bubble screen and some Evotech rad covers from Steve at Conquest. Theory being that I dont want a stone in my radiator midway through France and the screen will help anyway.
The only real other plans are some PR3s and Im getting a Sat Nav ordered up too (i get a company discount with Garmin). I was thinking of getting a tail back converter to turn my Kreiga tailback into a tank bag.
    Any other suggestions or ideas?

  2. You could get a ST4s for £2,500 with paniers and sell it when you get back, it would be more comfortable

  3. If I were you I would stick to the tailback on the seat. Keep the tank area clear.that way you can see your sat nav and not have your steering lock impaired.
    have a good trip.

  7. sometimes I find that a small tank bag is actually useful as you can lay on it when a bit tired.

  8. Not strictly bike preparation but You may want to look into getting a Viacard in Italy. This is a PAYG toll card for the Autostrada and saves you fumbling with change etc at the toll station.
Which way are you getting into the Bel Paese ? ;)
