Hi guys just ordered a panigale r to add to. My man cave although wife's v4 aprilia a nd 1100monster evo has crept in there ..Any thoughts or comments on running a 1199r much appreciated many tnxs guys  Currently running 1198sp. in black
my thoughts are you should do a straight swap for my panni S , wish I,d bought the R , would have thought the running costs would be pretty similar, enjoy ,,, im sure you will
I've heard its a blisteringly awesome bike. Far too much as a road bike tbh. My 1098R is too much to handle but still love it. General day to day stuff is similar to a 'run of the mill' Panigale. Maybe slightly higher costs in 1 or 2 area's but you'll not notice it tbh. Enjoy...
I rekon the 1199 will be an easier ride than the 1198. 1098R and 1198 just try and fight you all the time with their massive mid range catching many people out, the 1199 seems to only go mental when revving from what I hear.
What you've gotta remember is that the 10/1198R's have all the grunt lower down and is a better bike for it. Whereas the 1199 has been designed to have a better top end to compete on a level playing field with the JILF's. Although it still has a degree of 'low down' grunt, it isn't on par with the 10/1198R's.
You lucky, lucky man. I've got one here at the moment, going out on the 1st march to its lucky owner. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL things. YES...it does come with a full system. Relieved ally showing through on the sexy fuel tank. Lighter rods and flywheel and lower gearing make the R spin up with even more vigour than the (already awesome) standard and S versions. The 1199 is, for many peeps, easier to ride than the 1098 and 1198 as it is less of an animal low down, but it's still gruntier than a grunty thing! If anyone's passing by (Sheffield - SMC) and fancies a quick letch (but no touchy feelies!!), feel free to call in folks. Ciao......
Ducati Manchester also have an 1199R for sale. An unregistered 2013 model with only 3 miles on the clock. Looked at it again today.
