If it becomes of any use I have a brand new never installed virgin IAW 59M.A2 ECU which I had intended to ebay for a lot less than the sums people are talking about. I am sure ChrisW can provide the right map. PM me if I can be of help. Andy Ignore me, I can't read a date - doh !
Your bike uses the IAW16 ECU. These ECU's have no immobiliser and use an EEPROM chip. Your best course of action would be to buy a second hand unit and fit the correct EEPROM. You may be lucky and the EEPROM in your current ECU may be OK.
Thanks Chris for the quick reply. I did test the chip at the same time by changing just that, but no luck it's an ecu fault. Thanks again mate I'll have a gander on the bay. Thanks Android, it's not a compatable ecu is it ?
I'm afraid not mate, my fault entirely I just didn't read enough of the post. Having just turned 60 I blame my age. Regards, Andy
On the contrary he was hugely helpfully, is an absolute gentleman and has several pints of Guinness waiting for him here in Dublin. Unfortunately I dont know if my problem is solved yet as due to circumstances beyond my control I have not been in a position to work on the bike since I received the reflashed ECU.......as soon as I am able to get back to work on it I'll post news here.
Apologies, something was lost in translation here (I'm not English) and I didn't mean you! I'll keep my poor attempts at English humour to myself in future.
Ecu Ducati Exhaust Computers For Sale in Rathmines, Dublin from Kulasdg Did you try this guy , he is in rathmines and has lots of ecu's going cheap
Hi all, sorry for the long delay in reporting on my single cylinder problem. Long story short.... I got an ECU - from the guy VtwinDave mentions as it happens ChrisW reflashed it for me. Initially it didnt work.........but with some input from the excellent Robbie at MotoTechnic Dublin the problem was solved It does appear to have been a combined HT and ECU problem and the bike is running really sweetly on its new ChrisW ECU. Many thanks to all concerned.
