Good to see you are back on the road - 'new' openers turn up for about £50 in Germany etc from time to time but factory over double that and if garage repaired then understandable that that's what they'd use - £600 total?
Belts £100 , rocker £125, labour £250 , that's my guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if is quite a bit more. Steve
Almost spot on Birdie.......£502 ffs! Still I thought, blow it, pay it, ride it........lets go......it rode like an absolute shitter, bucking like a bronco and stalling and I had to take it back. :frown: Not sure what was wrong, it felt like electrical or bad fuel delivery, dunno. Gutted.
Im brand new to this forum and even newererer than that to Ducati's. Ive learned more in the last 15 minutes reading than I have in the last 4 weeks trawling the spanner-ternet and raiding google. This last post made me giggle for a split second but in the nicest possible way and then i thought how much of a total bugger that must have been for you. Hope its all good now West12?
Was gonna suggest you read this mate, although... Don't be totally scared off, u just need to factor it in and you need to look at things like Newman cams. I never had an issue with mine in 3 services across 2 years, not even starting to show signs of wear, but I used to let it idle for 2 mins at least before even tickling the throttle even when warm. It surely in a small way helped... My services used to be around £525 with motorapido so I have to say the prices have stayed fairly static.
Well I only spoke briefly to the shop when they called because my office had a power cut of all things during the call.... Guy said, "we checked everything, the work we did - all good, moisture in the fuel - all good, other stuff blah blah blah all good, any way the last thing we did was change the plugs, they were a bit sooty so we reckon it was dodgy plugs". That's when I had had to hang up. Now the bike was running sweet and always had until it went in the shop. I definitely am not suggesting the shop is dodgy, not for a split second, what's anyone's thoughts on if they will charge a shed load of money for labour to find it was dodgy plugs - assuming it actually was? Anyone? Kind Regards Mr no fucking luck at all West12

To finish this off, I went back today, and the guys didn't charge me at all. they said because of the inconvenience the first time it was free of charge. Top bombing and a big recommendation then for Snell Ducati in Alton Hampshire. Welcome to W.M. Snell Ducati - Family owned business since 1961
