Warning about threads that may have a legal repercussions

So if i get this right, its the person who we have all read about in the papers and there was a thread about them on here which i read and he has had his lawyers shut the thread down,

So to clear it up we can talk about it/them but, not mention any names or what sandwich i am having for lunch today :biggrin:

its one thing says 'I think its obvious he's guilty' and another saying 'he's guilty'

one a statement of opinion, which we can all have, another fact which has nothing to do with opinion

some posters use the first, others the latter

sometimes I get an itch , when I do and my aunty Florence is around , she looks at me when I'm scratching and says " whats wrong Peter " " I'll say Rash Florri ".

 

And some people wont be told what to say by strangers on forums....

 

Maybe it's time to close down the Lounge.
This is a Ducati Motorcycle forum not a soap box forum for all sorts of loony subjects. Don't litter our forum with some of the nonsense this encourages. Yes, I know you don't have to read the posts and yes, I know some members seem to thrive 'on the Lounge' but can't they just find somewhere else to voice their non-Ducati hangups and opinions?
Maybe the Lounge should clearly be restricted to motorcycle topics??

 

But I haven't got any friends and I haven't got a Ducati any more, so if you close down the lounge I won't have anyone to talk to?

 

A good forum should have a social side to it, which the lounge provides. Come the warm weather the technical forums will pick up again and everyone will cheer up a bit!

 

But what if the assailant rode a Ducati.

I cant think of a single forum anywhere where there isnt a general chat room.

 

Yup - the zorst rubbing threads will be substituted by my bike wont start threads...:biggrin:

 

Why not just stick to matters Ducati, then there should be no risk of upsetting anybody as you suggest. After all it is a Ducati motorcycle forum. Comments on child abuse etc have no place here. Keep that for the Daily Mail site.
i must admit some of the stuff here in the "lounge" forum are a little distastffull from time to time, ie most of the time!

 

But if the peado rode a ducati we could talk about it here.

 

If anybody posts something which "upsets" you, feel free to say so and explain why. If you find something "distasteful", again you can contradict it. This is what is known (among grown-ups) as freedom of speech.
