Anyone seen this on the mcn website, a few sites say it will be th match for the multi, ie traction, riding modes, elec suspension 150-170 bhp, thoughts anyone.
Its a bit like the Honda FZ1, sports bike engine in a street fighter type setup (or maybe closer to the fazer). Undoubtedly if they make it, people will buy it. It may take sales from the MTS, but hopefully that will make ducati fix some of the longer term issues with it  Personally, if they put the old GT1300 engine in the GS frame, I think they would have a winner. That won't happen though as the engine was discontinued due to emissions, and it would detract from their GS followers. I still wouldn't swap my MTS for it though.
Great bike it will undoubtedly be. My mate has that missile called the s1000rr. But beemers are not pretty and when all bikes do much of a muchness, their appearance is a massive factor to me and the MTS is by far the nicest looking. Even with that sparrows beak. Plus its red. And a VTwin. V2's are just brilliant.
The naked S1000R is getting rave reviews, so this has got to be worth a look. When they build it I'll definitely give it a try, if only to confirm that the MTS is still the one for me. Be rude not to
Apparently UK customer for the BWM are being told 2015 for delivery and in the states it is 2016? Told to me by a Ducati Dealer
They really need to put this 'concept' version in to production imho..................drool!! ....now where's my lottery ticket!!??
According to MCN (the old fashioned paper version) it won't have hard luggage and minimal comfort for pillion. BMW's logic being that they don't want to take sales from their own existing touring orientated bikes.......So by definition also isn't going to be competing with a large sector of Multi customers. Agree with Drinky the Nine-T would be somewhere near the top of my second bike list (if only)
Hey wot's this.........we turning into a BM appreciation society? ......'av to agree tho' (grudgingly) Back on topic (sort of), I was wondering what proportion of Multi owners have hard luggage and pillion comfort as a priority ('tis for me). In which case the proposed BMW 1000F is a non starter, seems to me it's not much more than an RR with high bars and a bit of bodywork missing.
Col, the mts is our touring bike, so it has to be approved by mrs W. Fortunately she loved it  Occasionally i get told to slow down though
Hi John, bought the MTS late last year after spending many years touring (2-up) on Triumph Sprints (900, 955i & 1050) often in the company of others on BMW-GS & RT's. The Bmers can't be bettered for full on 2-up touring IMO......but I want something that's still fun to ride the rest of the time:biggrin:. For me the MTS has got the compromise just about right, it's a capable 2-up tourer ('er in doors rides Daytona 675 - so MTS pillion is shear luxury) but it's still a good 1-up sport bike. I'm sure the 1000F will be a comfy sport bike but not a tourer.
