Bagalux

  1. As the title suggest anyone using the bagalux tank cover and tank bag. I currently have one for my daytona and wondered if the cover for the multi was any good and if the bag is interchangeable. Cheers

  2. I have the cover for the Multi which I bought last year and a bag which must be getting on for 15 year old. Fits no problem and used last year on annual trip abroad. Works well and tank is protected but as that was my only source of luggage I had the bag well filled which did obscure the clocks . Slight movement in the bends of the Pyrenees but nothing to worry about. You do have to unclip the bag at the rear to get access to fill up the tank.

  3. I had bag us bags for about 10 years, and thought they were great.
I didn't like the look of the tank cover for the mts, so did a bit of a tank bag survey back in 2010. It's on ashonbikes somewhere.
After trying a number i went for one of the bags connection Bags and tank filler ring fitting.
    IMO they are far superior.

I accept it's personal choice, so just saying, incase you've not considered them.

  4. I haven't got my Multistrada yet (paid the deposit, waiting for a test ride, just to make sure), but I'll definitely be getting a Bagster tank cover for it, as I have for almost every other bike I've owned. It's not just a luggage-mounting system, it's the best tank protector you can get. What else lets you rest a hot mug of coffee on your tank?

One thing to be aware of, that a lot of people don't realise: the bags generally have two different sizes of fitment, "standard" and "trail", which corresponds to the distance between the front and rear fittings. As far as I know, the Multistrada is a "trail", so there's a limited number of bags that will fit. From the current range, I know there's the Cross'r, Tweety, and presumably the map holder for trail. I've tried to get a decent answer out of Baglux (the usual UK importers), but I think I need to contact Bagster themselves to get a definitive response.

  5. Eddie nice one. That's exactly what I was trying to find out. I assume my daytona has a standard fitting, so my bag won't fit. I was going this route to see if I can save some cash but if I'd need to get a bag as well I may have to explore another route.

Spoke to Baglux 3 weeks ago to order a tank cover and they confirmed the two bags you mentioned are the only ones that fit
Cover arrived yesterday and will be fitting tomorrow. The only problem seems to be that it only has limited covering of the tank, due to the shape I guess.

  7. I'm not sure I trust Baglux to know what they're talking about. They're the UK importers, not the manufacturers, and they're not the same people that used to own the company the last time I had dealings with them. I'm sure there's at least one other bag that will fit (map holder, although they've all changed in the last few years). I'll get in touch with Bagster themselves, or the people that used to run Baglux.

It'll probably be better once it's been fitted for a while. Make sure the cover's warm (high room temperature) before you start fitting for the first time with a new cover, it makes life much easier.
