which way to play with the ride height adjuster

  1. If I shorten the length of the adjuster will it raise or lower the ride height?

I've just rebuilt mine and set it at the max length but it just occourred to me that shortening might have the effect of raising the rear but I thought it best to ask rather than waste potential riding time....

  2. longer is higher...

  3. you need a ride height tool

  4. I figured as much. It has been a very long day and I got thinking :)

I set it bang on 185 when I changed the rod ends.

Got to finish putting the front back together and get out for the first ride of the year as the weather is looking pretty sweet :upyeah:

  5. Bump....

Does anyone know if setting the ride height adjuster too long could have a negative effect on the shock?

Reason im asking is Ive had all my suspension rebuilt and the shock has blown its seals twice since and the guys were gobsmacked and im trying to rule out anything daft before I road test it again and that is the only thing I have touched.

Im guessing if it was too long (it isnt im sure as I set it out properly and wasnt drunk at the time), it would simply cause handling issues and the maximum length quoted is based on the ideal geometry plus having enough thread inside the rideheight adjuster bar.

Just thought I would ask a silly question in case someone knows better.

    Cheers

    JC
