Hi everyone, Multistrada 1000DS owner from Cornwall. Great bike to ride, have not had it long so am still getting used to it. (Had Triumphs before) Have noticed that water is sitting in the petrol cap well when we had a heavy shower, is the hole in the locking recess a drain hole? Cheers Baz
Thought so, thanks finm. Am concerned that water will get in the petrol tank as the well fills up with water when it rains. Any advice on how to unblock it? Cheers Baz
Good to hear from you Steve and thanks for the advice, I think i have sorted the problem now, I used a bicycle pump and some hose and pumped air up through the outlet on the right hand side of the tank. It eventually cleared after about 5 minutes. Your idea of strimmer nylon sounds like a good one, i had trouble getting anything through the drain hole, thanks for the advice. I know Callington well as Im originally from Launceston, spent lots of time in that area perhaps we could meet up sometime. Only three Ducatis! well I am most envious. I'm still very green with these bikes, It's good to hear that yours lives outside, i don't have a garage so the multi is out in all weathers (mostly rain in Cornwall). Do you put a cover on the bike? Cheers Baz
Hello and welcome to the forum My bike lives outside I have a dust cover on her then I bought a waterproof cover for £11 from 2wheeljunkie I bungy the cover when it's very windy So far so good she hasn't got soaked and no rust that I can see My SS always collected water in the top I thought it was petrol at one time till I smelt it drrr

Cheers Ducbird, will check out 2wheeljunkie for a cover, seems like loads of riders keep their bikes outside so that's reassuring.
