Having done Spain & Portugal for the last 3 years we have decided to do somewhere lese for a change this year. We are leaving on saturday through the tunnel straight into Belgium (1st night) then through Germany into Austria then into Italy and on to croatia. All Motorways till we hit Austria then some scenic routes afterwards especially Croatia on the coast road . Going on my Panigale, did the last 2 years on my RSV4 so sportsbikes aren't a problem. Weather looks iffy through Germany but sunny and hot for croatia.
Sounds like a great trip. I'll be in Croatia in two weeks, but sailing along the coast, not on my bike  (off to Alps & Dolomites next month). Great to see a Panigale being used like this.........
What's Croatia like, prices-wise? I was under the impression it was quite a dear place for food, drink, etc.
Well been through Croatia etc and now in Italy, the coast road in Croatia is out of this world !!!, about 34 degrees !!. Got some footage, should get back for Saturday .
Looking forward to seeing your footage. Been sailing there and love the look of the roads. Hope you had a great trip. Regards Steve
Sounds like a plan. Weather here (Switzerland) has been a wee bit changeable, but it's definitely summer and warm most of the time. Bet you'll have loads of fun.
Bet you are having a great time! l went to Croatia three years ago on my 848. Some cracking roads, especially inland. As you say the coast road is incredible from a views point of view. How you finding the Panigale for touring? I took mine to WDW and found it less extreme than the 848. Over 3000 miles in 9 days, no pains or cramp at all. But did miss the convenience of Ventura luggage!
My brother's covered most of mainland europe on his 1098S, and I've not once heard him complain about it. He's 50, so it ain't a flexibility thing. Sportsbikes make great tourers if you keep the wind pressure up...
True enough, and bruv is a pretty healthy bloke. But I've crossed the continent in my forties on a ZXR without issue, and I'm about as healthy as Roy Castle...
Apologies for a slight diversion from motorcycles. Those that have sailed Croatia recently, is it still OK sailing there? I hear that there are issues of fees being levied and impounding of yachts by some fairly nasty characters in marinas and ports. I sailed around Primosten and the Kornati Islands in 2002 and would like to go back, it's a perfect place to sail a few weeks away.
