Plug Cap Ends Resistor Type Or Not ?

  1. Want to change the plug cap ends the part that fits the spark plug as the front one is faulty and occasionally stops working I am interested in a angle rubber NGK pair but I cannot find out if the original Ducati caps are resistor or just a normal cap anyone out there got the info I need ?

  2. would guess caps are non resistor as most plugs are resistor type now
most lead caps are metal crimped directly on to the internal part that
conducts the voltage and no resistor in them
but someone on here might have more knowledge on ht leads

ahh just thought are your leads part of the coil or are they removeable
if part of coil ie fixed in they would be screw on ones
so may have a resistor in

  3. I think you will find very few caps are resistor type these days as John says.........but most are suppressor types..........

...........I dumped the OEM Ducati black ones and fitted NGK with the HT lead and plug rubber sleeve seals.

  4. I'm thinking of doing that. Were you able to find a set already made up for the 900? If so where? Thanks!

  5. The caps come with the seals and you can fit them dry, or fill the HT lead one up with gasket silicone.....

I will try to find the reference number of the ones I have...........I think it was an LD05F-R

I just noticed on a cross reference website NGK and Champion Plug caps cable and splicer that nearly all the plugs caps refer to a resistor (generally 5 Ohms) so maybe a resistor is a suppressor........electrics....I know nothing
