Well technically Nelly (cornerspeed) is a service centre e.g. He doesn't sell bikes but is a fully authorised Ducati workshop (I'm sure it's termed different) Anyway, point is with Nelly is that his livelihood is servicing and service, he makes no money from bike sales and so that's probably why he's such a good bloke to take your Ducati to for work. He's not got one eye on a sale, he's got both eyes on doing a good job and making sure you come back for the next service. How it should be IMO
surely you can take your ducati anywhere for the work ,to any ducati franchised dealer etc ,I know on a car you can its got to be your choice , or reject the goods not fit for purpose ,
I remember when I went into ducati Wolverhampton to enquire about a few things on my old ducati, and to show some intrest in an 1098s they had for sale. And if I'm honest the service I received was shocking!! I'm 23 at the time (yes I know that's young) and I don't think anyone in there took me seriously. I was quite shocked at the comment I got when I asked about the bike was "don't even bother sir you'll probably be dead in a week" so anyway I left my details with the sales guy and I never heard from them again. This is a 10k bike we are talking about here and the impression I got was I'm a young kid who knows nothing and is dreaming of owing a bike like that. As it happens a similar bike came up for sale at jhp Coventry (1198s) and wow what a difference I was treated like any other customer despite my age, and with some respect. can't recommend them any higher so ducati Wolverhampton you can suck a fart I will never be going there again. :Finger:
I'm about to purchase a bike from Snell.. I've been communicating with them via email and so far they've been very professional and helpful. In fact, I placed a booking deposit on a bike not too long ago but couldn't execute the deal because the bike's age was over the limit permitted for importation into my country and they refunded in full. Now I'm close to buying another bike from them and really hoping it will happen this time. My gutfeel is they are great guys but happy to hear any thoughts or experience you may have dealing with them.. The last thing we want are sales ppl who are trying to make a sale and not telling the full truth about the bike's history..
Acid etch for these surfaces would work here (I mean gasket surfaces treated on the assembly line prior to gasket / bonding agent applied))
Don't let bad service put you off the marque mate.Just take your hard earned elsewhere and complain to ducati uk if not happy with one of there official dealers. In the midlands you also have Ducati cov/JHP , G- Tec and Cornerspeed.
I though all the workshops had to go to ducati in Italy to do a course on a new model before it was released so that they could sell/ work on the bikes. And they have to buy all the new tooling. Isn't it part of their contract for being a ducati franchise? So all the arguments about who's going to work on the op's bike are bullshit. Either they can do it and can't be arsed, or they're shit mechanics who treated the course like an attendance course and didn't learn anything. Get a van, take it to JHP and get the work done there. After that enjoy the bike that you've paid for. You won't regret it!
Some are technicians, other mechanics. One uses software to diagnose and repair, the other uses skills, knowledge and experience. My bike goes to Snells because they are the latter
Sorry to hear about your problems. They do happen but is how you are treated that counts. If its warranty work cant you take it anywhere (Ducati franchise)? I would go with the advice of others in your area as a good place to take it.
We have a main Ducati dealer over here. But i go to an ex Ducati spanner guy for all servicing, not main dealer. He knows his stuff inside out, very well known too in the business & Ducati trained yada yada for yrs.. What I'm saying, do your research, if you have to travel a bit, so what, is worth it in the long run without the headache of an outfit who cant be ars*d or havent a clue, or both.
I absolutely promise you that Snells are the embodiment of what any dealer needs to be.They eat sleep and breath Ducati and just deliver the very best for the customer totally with that aim very much at the top of their list.
