Hi all, This is my first thread on here and it may well have been posted a few times already. My question is I'm going to be installing a Translogic Micro Dash to my 996 SPS what I need is a carbon fibre mounting plate to do this. Does anyone have one going spare that they wish to sell cheap or does anyone know of someone who can make me one again cheap please. Wiring diagrams would also a blessing! I posted a thread on another ducati forum but lost the information that some kind person posted me back. I'm UK based, Suffolk area. Thanks for any help ....Addipops996

Tommy B - if you cut off the excess bolt thread you'll maximise your weight saving! Looks like a very neat job otherwise.
Still not happy with the positioning tbh, first time out on the bike today and seems to much on a angle...needs to be a little flatter, plus it's not 100% central and bugging me. Finally got it set up, pain in the arse without a dyno! The gear indicator part is a pig to get right!
My mate took some decent pics on his slr camera earlier, do will put something in the project/build thread in the next couple of days. However still not happy with my the paint so adjustments still need to be made.
Bit of a co-incidence, fitting one of these dashes is on my "next to do list" and ive been trying to get a decent price for one from the suppliers. Not easy! I thought the gear indicator goes by your speed and engine revs and works it out automatically?
It tells you the gear based on speed vs. RPM but you need to enter the info first. First thing is calibrating the speedo, this entails riding at a known 30mph for some time to get a steady reading - which can be tricky on the road, I found a long stretch of quiet road and used a car GPS cable-tied to the headstock to get an accurate 30mph reading but it would be easier (and safer) on a dyno. Once this is done you then need to 'teach' it which gear is which, once done it works faultlessly.
I made my own from an A4 sized sheet of 2mm thick carbon fibre bought from ebay for a tenner. The dash mounts to the carbon, then the carbon is bolted to the 3 original mounting points using rubber well-nuts as spacers/vibration dampeners. I also spent some time making a loom to dash adapter so it doesn't wreck the original wiring and is plug-n-play.
Excellent advice there. Ive bought a spare front loom for my bike already so i`d be splicing it into that like above in order to make it plug & play. I can always strap my smart phone to the bike and check the gps speed on that. I didnt realise you could buy sheets of carbon like that, that looks like it would be perfect. I`ll have a look.
