Just can't bring myself to ride it in the rain/wet and being in England...well the GS gets all the miles..... Had a great run out on the SC1KS around the hills yesterday morning, the only thing better than the turn in toward the apex is the way it torques away from a apex.....
any bike will wheelie if you know what your doing. The DS motor tuned makes great midrange torque, this allows you to lift the front of the SC1000S on the throttle in first or second without any drama. But ...... if all you want to do is wheelie and run around like a prat.... a hypermotard may be a better bet.
I do enjoy a the odd wheelie and its now part of my biking enjoyment....so no I don't want to ride around like a prat .....only sometimes.
ok david took the sc to the nw200, I enjoyed the run up on the back roads the bike seems in her sweet spot between 60 and 110. corners nice and holds a line well. arrived at millsport and looked over a few ducs,I know now what you mean about it attracting a crowed inc one very elderly gent thought I wanted to talk about old race bikes. had a lot of admirers at the pit area and it really sounded good in the nw traffic. the wasp puk set up really sounds class, the induction noise is so so loud waaaaaa waaaaaa waaaaaa . as every year it really pissed on the way home and the bike and myself were well and truly soaked but she never missed a beat. 100% .hosed her down and will try to wash and polish during the week at the moment iv the fire lit and cup of tea in hand. great weekend racing though and hope the injured racers make a recovery.
Great news glad you enjoyed the run! May have stretched myself to a HP4, not sure will know more Thursday. Send pics!
had a few runs to set her up (need heavier rear springs ) and im loving this bike. you tend to short shift instead of bouncing it of the limiter (1098) and did I mention its so so smooth ? wheel lifts over crests and knee touches down on corners, and you keep riding it in your sleep lol. if you don't like attention don't buy one, and if you do then budget for upgrades. I paid a high price for mine but once I factor in the extras fitted which I would have had to buy anyhow ,it was a no brainer, also it shouldn drop in value. down side is you will go through lots of autoglym and beer as you sit in your garage and admire. I frigging love this bike and although I would like a 899 in the future I don't think I will ever sell this stunner.
Got a call from BMW, the crate is at distribution and bike should be at dealers in the next two weeks....yeah super excited. I really think it's funny, you are downsizing horsepower wise and I'm going in the opposite way! Maybe we should just swap bikes every couple of years!
you wouldn want mine.........its a sport classic with three chips in the tank c/o a lorry throwing up a big clump of soil/stones fecking grrrrrrrrrrrr........anyhows next door neighbour who has his own car repair business is touching in then rub down and buff , he recons he can repair.
isn't it just fecking typical though. was enjoying a good run finding the limits lol. the bike is really enjoyable and you get off feeling youv really worked yourself and the sc hard, in many ways the same feeling I had from my firestorm. I remember arriving somewhere years ago and feeling id really ridden hard and enjoyed myself and a guy with me on his new r1 saying the firestorm hadn't the legs on his bike as he hardly went over 9k revs.........so who had just enjoyed themselves?
