First mod I've bought for my bike ! All booked up at the California super-bike school level 1 on the 28th so excited, anyone else going?
Nope did level 1 a few years ago and did enjoy it but felt a little 'robbed' at the end of the day. It's a very expensive way of learning, would be interested to hear your view afterwards. I was tempted to do level 2 this year (price aside) as my mate starts instructing there this season which would have been good. That said they are rushing about like loons as you will see. Enjoy.
The school is all about cornering, level 1 covers, throttle control, turn points, two step turning, quick turning and rider input . I really did learn a lot and really enjoyed my day
The key difference is that Silverstone Stowe is very short, tight and not very wide. It's more of a testing ground than a race circuit. For me personally, this means I find Stowe very non-threatening and a great learning/practising ground for working drills, but one could argue it lacks the excitement/speed of a track day compared to a bigger circuit such as Brands. Having done CSS 1 and 2 both at Stowe, I would do the same again as I feel I learn more than I would on a faster track where inevitably I my corner entry speeds would be nudging up to levels with some pucker factor for me. The perfect cycle for me (which I did last year) is to do the CSS school at Stowe, then a weekend later book into a slower group on a normal track day on a bigger circuit and spend time practising the drills again. my lovely wife brought level 1 for me and was going to speak to them on Tuesday at Donnington, try and arrange the level 1 for June/July and then the Ducati day in July (already booked) with CCS again, the idea is getting three days of input??
