For Sale Multistrada Bits

  1. Hi all

I have recently traded in my 2011 MTS 1200 ST for a new one and have the following bits for sale that are incompatible with the new bike:

    1. Tinted (black) winglets and attaching SS screws
    2. Vario screen with adjustable deflector
    3. Navihalter GPS bracket (first class bit of kit enables GPS to sit above dash and in line of sight, see www.Navihalter.de)
    4. Shorty rear mudguard and front brake line bracket (free to anyone that buys any of the above).

    Prices:

£15 for the winglets, £50 for the screen (in good nick) and £50 for the GPS bracket.

The combined screen and winglets work really well compared to standard screen. Much quieter and less buffeting and much better rain protection.

Although no reasonable offer refused. £100 for the lot.

I live in Hampshire and have to run the new bike in so I could deliver....

    PM me if interested.

  2. Are the winglets the new design with the recess for the screws? If so I'll have them.

  3. They are the ones that fit up to a 2012 MTS, they will not fit the new 2013 onwards bike as the fairing is different to accommodate the LED lights.

  4. OK great, but are they MK1 or MK2 winglets? MK2 have recesses where the bolts fix them, MK1 have not and have stiff rubber grommets that made them a pain in the arse to fit.
If they are MK2 I'll have them.

  5. They have rubber grommets but I cannot recall them being difficult to fit. They have been on the bike for a while so they are probably the Mk1 version.

  6. If triple trouble doesn't want the winglets then I'll take them, I'd like to give them a try.

Wish I'd known about the Navihalter... I just bought one last week!

So far I have not had a solid offer for the winglets. It appears from what Triple is saying these are the Mk 1 version.

Apparently they can be a pain to fit but I cannot recall having problems. I do confirm however, that they make a significant difference to the ride quality of the bike, especially when coupled with the Vario screen.

Twin4me, sorry about being slow to post the GPS mount!

  8. Hi Mark,

May be interested in the GPS bracket, do you have any pictures of it fitted?

I check the site but it's not obvious and also not on English

    Cheers

  9. Lucky, have a look at this link as it shows two images of the bracket, one off the bike and one on.

You can cut and paste the German site into Google translator and it will do the job. Lastly, if the photo comes out below, you can see it holds the satnav above the dash and in line with sight. Easy to fit with 4 x cap bolts.

  10. Great thanks Mark, Just one question, can't make out how it fits. Does it just clamp against the the nose piece or is it fixed in place with fixing holes. What I am trying to get at is can some one pull up hard enough to slide and remove the bracket and take SAT NAV with it.

    Cheers

  11. Hi Mark,

I'll take the GPS mount, heading anywhere near Swindon anytime Soon? :)

  12. Lucky,

The clamp is held in place by four cap bolts (two either side). The bolts clamp the bracket (using captivated nuts on the bracket) onto the inner edge of the screen holder (it does not come into contact with the screen and the screen can still be adjusted). The mounting system is very robust and the bracket does not move and you would be unable to remove it without allen keys.

You would not be able to remove the bracket and GPS by hand (although there are always gorillas out there who would try I guess). I never left my bike alone with the sat nav in place (albeit I had a garmin security bracket with a thumb screw release so I could pop the GPS in the top box).

I also still have the box and instructions that it came with.

  14. Might do Lucky, like I said I need to get some mileage on the new bike over the weekend, maybe Saturday. Is the big George White sales place still there?

Could meet for a coffee in the morning around 10ish.

  15. Guys

Winglets are sold to Ibgarrow who was next in line for them. Apologies to others.

  16. Yeah, the X-George white place is still there. Though just realised it's Bank-hols this weekend and I am not around.

Where about in Hampshire, as I m often down in Southampton or Winchester at Rapido's

We can sort something following weekend if that's ok with you, i don't mind a ride.

    PM me.

    Cheers

  17. Mark - bit disappointed as I had said I would take the winglets (I was just waiting for you to confirm that Triple trouble hadn't bought them) Oh well...

  18. Twin4me

I am sorry about this situation, I was PM'd by another buyer before your email so he (in my mind) was next in line.

  19. Hi Mark,

might be easier to post if that's ok with you. Let me know what the postage is if we can meet up any time soon.

    Cheers

  20. OK, no worries... :)
