what colour are you after? I have a red one and a bronze one I will sell. Both with additional outer ring making them suitable for slipper clutchs too.
Hi Vtwin Dave i had a 748 a few moons ago i did get a ali basket but found that it only lasted about 2-3k? miles, i then changed it back to a steel unit, then put Suzuki GS850 plates in, i know this is weird but it run perfect and after several track days and 10k they never wear out ! also a third of the price for Ducati plates. I have had several other people change theirs like this and the clutch runs quieter and seems to be a little smoother, might be worth a try i think the Suzi plates are about £30-40 quid a set, By the way only run them with a open clutch cover!! might be some food for thought. I looked at his feedback and there was some bad feedback saying he's selling stuff he hasn't even got so went ahead and ordered one cos he was the cheapest and not in the USA , then about an hour later he sent me a message saying he doesn't have them in stock it will take a few weeks to get in so I asked for a refund
I've already bought the Ali plates and was looking for the Ali basket to match but I've taken apart the clutch and the old friction plates are worn but the basket isn't to bad so might just get new steel plates . I know they mightn't last long but has anyone put Ali plates in a steel basket
Apparently the stock ali one from a 749 is the way to go, better genuine than some iffy copy. Oh, yep I have ali Barnett plates in a stock steel basket 5K on the plates 13.5k on the basket, no probs.
