Change fuel pump relay ,, everything seemed ok , the starting of the bike was vastly improved .. But after another short ride , instead of having kangaroo juice blips in throttle , it is now cutting out , after a 40 mile ride.. Switch off & start up no problem until 2 to 5 miles & dies again .. If anyone can shed some light on the problem it would be appreciated .. I have look at two other possibles which are Crankshaft sensor ,,, which it might be . The other one is the Ignition coil but I'm not sure , if this was faulty if it would just in a second make the engine seem as it was cutting out. Feeling like you had ran out of petrol .. Not a 100 % mechanic .. But I'm alright with basics
If it's the crank sensor the revcounter will drop to zero instantly even when the engine is still turning.
Cheers Derek. The revs are ok, when bike is running .. The fuel filter clogging shouldn't be the problem I hope, because I've just had a 16,000 mile service by Ducati. Which was very expensive ,, I've just spoken to Ducati & it is looking that they will be taking it back !! Thanks for your quick reply , I'll keep you updated on my progress
