848 Rear Disc 916 Hub

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Cranker V2, Jun 9, 2014.

  1. Will a four bolt 848 rear disc fit a 916 hub?

  2. it's ok, I know the answer now. 848 rear disc and caper hanger wanted now.

  3. Mike, I have a good condition rear disc with the 4 DTC pips on. £50 any good?

  4. As the diameter is larger be careful with the caliper to wheel clearance. Some wheels won't clear the caliper.

  5. Been playing about with this myself...

  6. So have I....

I had to swap the caliper as the std unit wouldn't clear the mag marchesini. It did clear the ali marchesini though.

  7. I think you're ok with the poverty spec wheels...;)

  8. Did you get sorted with a disc?

  9. I'm going to use a bracket for the speed sensor mounted off the caliper mount bolts. Bike Sport Developments supply them, though I will fab my own in the first instance. No need to make any changes to rear disc set up using bracket it seems.

  10. I made my own for the Translogic dash, picks up off the four disc bolts;

  11. Aye, I am going to machine something similar. :upyeah:

  12. It clears the poverty spec marvic magnesiums too :upyeah:

  13. But will it be as crafted as my 'custom' spacers... :D

  14. This is a nicely made sensor holder that someone else made on the old forum.

  15. That alloy bracket is the one that Translogic (used to) supply with the dash, it's the same one I'm using on mine.

I did intend to replace the 2 nuts with an alloy spacer but never quite got round to it.

  16. I 'made' a bracket for my other bike.
It's bit of bent Ali with two holes in...:)

  17. Interesting - I was going to ask the very same thing. So, I need a caliper hanger from an 848/1*98 and a disc obviously. Just as well I have the cheepo wheels too ;-)
