Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by comfysofa, Jun 12, 2014.

  1. As above ive at last found one that works with my 1100evo....I can only gather that the older series one hypers have a different wiring loom.

Found these people....and in turn this product. Very helpful chap on the other end of the email as well which helps....

The last one I bought from china was about 40 quid, didn't work, had shoddy wiring and needed resistors. plus you had to kind of hotwire the indicators....it was a bit weird but it didn't work anyway...helpful bloke sent me this pic of the wiring on the back of the light.... So, as you can see it just plugs in...no pissing around, job done. which was all I was looking for....cost 93euros including tax, carriage and whatnot which I think works out at 74 quid. Hope this helps some of you peeps out there...

  2. Nice glad you sorted it out. The wiring is a bit crazy on the hyper. how bright are the indicators when brake on?

  3. I don't care - as long as theyre integrated!! its person preference but I like to keep the sticky outy things on my bikes to a minimum....you may say that about the front mirrors but theyre more of an extension of the bars...

  4. Just out of curiosty were you on the 796 with medic slapped on it at the TT...?

  5. I totally agree with you with regards getting rid of the sticky out things thats why I chopped the exhaust and fitted the led rear indicators. it was me on the 796. We had to display the medical passes for parking around course and entry to the paddock. With the dark sceen it was the only place to stick it. Where did you see me?

  6. well most I have followed with them are shit. And if its a pulsing under braking one, expect someone to knock you off, even if they momentarily see you indicating

  7. That's one of the reasons I wanted my indicators seperate and am more than happy with them but I did see in some integrated lights on some Portuguese bike in iom which looked ok

  8. All the ones ive ever been behind have been ok - but then, I think there are different qualities of them....the one for my RSV4 cost about 120 ish and my mate said (who was behind me) it was absolutely fine....

Isaac - didn't see you - only the bike....it was parked up by the restaurant behind the car park at the start finish line... 20140602_190345.jpg

See - I is stalkin' ya!

Saying that were you at the Italian day in Bristol earlier this year....ie at Gordano services...?

  9. Ha ha you caught me! The little sticker on the front mudgaurd was stuck on by my daughter for good luck. no I wasn't at gordano services or italian day sorry.
How did the rsv go around the course??

  10. Nicely - id like to say I went for it and went break neck speed but I didn't have it in me this year as the day before I came out my dad died. He knew I was coming out the next day and the last sane conversation I had with him he told me "Son, don't stay here on my account, get out there and enjoy yourself, but please, be careful!" - now normally when he tells me that I just think "yeah dad, I know what im doing..." but this time it stuck a little more based on the circumstances....the tyres on the RSV were a little tired as well, so while I had a few occasions when I opened it up (not on the mountain) my mind was really on him...

  11. Wow I'm sorry to hear that!! Must have been really hard for you.

  12. That's ok. Just thought id be honest about how I got on over there....it was great and we did meet some funny people, but my old man was and still is at the back of my mind...

  13. Well, the law changed I think November the year before last....the month before I spent 150 quid on an integrated rear light for the RSV and thought ill be fucked if im not going to put it on so I fitted it anyway, refitted the indicators for the MOT and then switched back. As you say if you don't use the indicators then its no biggie anyway - you can take the indicators off and then put some tape over the swtich...apparently that will go through the MOT as well. As I say I think its a matter of preference as I said I prefer the minimal amount of sticky outy things on my bikes...

Personally I tend not to use indicators, I just like them to work as theres a switch there...

  14. It will fail an MOT

Rules changed recently afaik having had the same conversation with several people recently all of whom had issues

  15. Yep - i think weve established that....the point is some people still like to fit them and then switch back for the MOT....just like number plates...

  16. Well, long as you dont come whinging on here when some old dear rear ends you because she does notice you're slowing to turn :upyeah:

    They do look better tho.

  17. Nope - im a grown up and quite aware of what im doing!!

  18. The thing I love about biking is that you can be an individual. You'll never do things that everyone will like but why should you. Approval for change is not required but if by sharing the ideas/info we have it helps someone with their choices/problems then I'm happy. As long as you're happy with it then jobs a good one.

  19. Would you put a video up when you've got it fitted? Be very interested in one of these if they light up enough.

  20. What I love about 1.1 Corsas is you can be an individual, add big boy bodykits and dustbin lid exhausts... Lol

Aircontechnical has a set which is very bright, and you can easily see the indicators, but has a pulsing rear brake light, ie it flashes, which is distracting and means you cant see the indicators when you're following. But when the brake light is just on its clear enough

I had one on my 848 and it was useless...looked food tho ;) and Op said he doesn't use the, anyway
