Wanted - 749r Discs

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by RickyX, May 15, 2014.

  1. Looking for a set of good discs for a 749R (Ohlins radial forks) to replace the ones I knackered on my last trackday.
All makes considered. Previously had Galfer Wave which were excellent.

    Cheers,

    R

  2. Might be worth contacting someone like Ducati Kamna or JHP.Can you still get brembo HPK in 15mm offset.

  3. All 749/999 discs are the same.
You can even use 848/1098 ones.

  4. So don't the 749R/999R discs have different offset like previous R models.Should make it a lot easier to find replacements if they are the same.

  5. Nope, same as all.

  9. I like your thinking but your on a slippery slope there lol.As well as saving for the HPK disks I keep eyeing up the moto corse radial fork bottoms despite having a perfectly good set of ohlins radial fork bottoms for the job.

I think dukedesmo had the HPK disks fitted to his lovely 916 might be worth pm him as see what his experience is of em.I liked them carbon disks at bellisimoto until I spotted the price.

  10. Already got HPK on my 916SPS so I know they are pretty good already!

  11. Just remembered I had these put away in a box but wrong bolt pattern for 749/999.

Anyone know what they are as no part number.Fully floating,6 bolt pattern but with later style carriers.

  12. they are almost certainly 748/9*6 as I just scaled yours and fixing holes look to be 80 mm P.C.D. I know they also had 2 offsets only from memory 5 or 10? 5mm being the commonest on nearly all. Also same as early FZR 1000 Yamaha, Cagiva Mito/Planet/Supercity plus early Monsters and SS.

  13. Cheers for the reply Chris.Just found out they are 748-998 disks with 15mm offset (see pic 3 as they are more dished) same as 996/998 R.They are fully floating and running cast iron rotors like the older sps disks.Think the are from a 748 racing bike as im sure the seller said something about rule restrictions from memory so have to be same as road bikes but I guess rotors can be changed as not aware of cast iron sps type rotors on R bikes. Also rotors look thicker than the ones on my 916sps running standard 998S disks.

Im gonna hang onto these as I now have 10mm and 15mm offset disks spares which will be handy when I finaly do the radial brake conversion. The 998s 10mm offset disks I have fitted to sps tripped up the conversion last time.

  14. Don't blame you for keeping them Matt but then it's become a disease with me :) I only have one set of fully floating/cast though with std offset. Yours are better as they have 10 bobbins so shouldn't get worn too quickly.
