A noble deed. Is there a time limit for tickets to sell? I remember on another forum someone raffling off tickets for a bike. He sold a fair amount but not enough to let the bike go. He still hadnt sold the tickets after 6 months and a lot of people were pissed off.
Can't see that being a problem here - better than the lottery and a realistic target which may well be surpassed - is there a cut off on final value of pledges? Obviously the more the better for the charity but maybe a time cut off once £4000 has been reached?
Thanks fellas for a chance to clarify a little.... It's a week to gauge interest (through pledges) and whether we have a realistic chance of raising 4k. Looks good.... if enough interest, we will then set up a "just giving" web page to turn the pledges into donations... we will set up a link. So, anyone who pledges will then need to follow the link and donate to the charity web page. Couple of weeks for everyone who wants to participate to do so.... then, a week later draw out the winner (someone from one of the charities will do this, hopefully) and there you go..... some lucky so and so gets the 851 and we have raised some money for a good cause. So, pretty much done and dusted by this time next month. I may be able to get the bike down to the Snell's Ducati showroom, should there be enough interest through pledges, for anyone interested in looking at it. This would be a week next Monday or so and then available to view until the winner is drawn. Incidentally, anyone who pledges but thinks they might not unavailable to then donate on the "just giving" web page, over the next couple of weeks (Ian) due to holidays, etc... e-mail me and we will see what we can arrange.
