My 749 Coffee Table Project

  1. Hi everyone
So over the last 8 months or so, I've been turning a 749 engine into a centre feature / coffee table for my front room. Wish I had posted the blog on here as it's the main UK site and the place I had been updating was a US website. Anyway, check out the link below and see what you think. It is a thread right from start to finish.
Also, now that it is all finished, let me know if you are potentially interested in having one created for yourself. I will be advertising this on eBay here in the uk very shortly, more just to get a feel as to what the general interest is like and whether I decide to make a sort of side line business with it. It is all totally bespoke and hand crafted in every way. It has been a labour of love but totally worth it.

  2. For those of you who haven't looked at the link I posted in the original thread, here are a few pictures that show the story from start to finish. If you have a spare 20 mins, take a look at the website with my blog on, makes for a bit of interesting reading.

  3. Your bin wears sneakers?

  4. Was wondering what the hell you were on about for a moment then! Haha, if only my wash bin wore trainers....clothes could put themselves into wash then!

  5. What's the cost for these, if an engine was supplied to you?

  6. Well it very much depends on how much work is involved and what engine it would be. This could be down to how dirty or corroded the engine may potentially be. As a rough guide, I value my engine (including the price of the engine) at £3500 - £4000.
So if you supplied me an engine and you wanted exactly the same as what I have done to mine, it would cost you £2500. This includes everything though (stand, glass, cleaning and cutaway sections).
I have mine listed on eBay at the moment. Take a look at item number 261512701827.
    Thanks

  7. Have you thought about contacting the tv programme "Four Rooms" to see if they're interested ? Could be good publicity for something pretty unique.

  8. This is amazing!! I absolutely love the cutaway sections!
