Hypermotard Wet Clutch Issue?

  1. Hey guys, right so this is my first post on here but I have been trying to confirm my suspicions that I need to replace my clutch and wanted to know if anyone else has had any problems like mine.

Bit of a long story but anyway, bike was restricted till about a month ago removed it and serviced it in one hit, air filter/oil/oil filter and plugs. Took the bike out for a quick spin fine no problems went out on it later on that day riding along gave it a fair bit of power and it just revved up and didn't go any faster. After riding for another 5 mins seemed to slip when you accelerate hard. Does anyone have any ideas what I could check before I get a clutch pack for it

  2. ECU limited ?

  3. It's a very crude throttle stop that screws onto the side of the throttle body. It's funny I put it back on the other day and rode again and no slip, it's just past where the restrictor stop where it starts to slip. So I am thinking that it could have been worn for some time but not enough torque to cause me to notice the slippage.

  4. Has anybody had problems with the shell ultra advance 10w40, racking my brains try to work out if it could be anything but the clutch plates worn due to the fact that she has only just touched the 10k mark

  5. Is the oil fully synthetic?

  6. Yes the oil is fully is that ok as it is the recommended by Ducati on the engine casing

  7. That's your problem. The plates work best with semi synthetic. Fully synth makes them slip.

  8. Even though it's recommended by Ducati? If you don't mind me asking does your bike have a wet clutch and what oil do you run?

  9. I currently have one bike with a wet clutch. It's new so it's running whatever was put in at the first service.

Go over to the ukmoc and ask the same question, or just do a search there. Plenty of monster owners have had the same issue.

  10. Right, so I called my local dealer today for some information on the best oil for my bike and he recommended the oil that I stuck in it, he said that they wouldn't put any semi in there so not too sure what to do.
