Bmw Hp4

  1. It's what got me..... Howls it does...

  2. Get the RSV4 over the BMW, I've just made the swap and it's such a great handling bike with so much grip, and the engine has great drive out of corners and is really smooth, plus it has one of the best exhaust notes ever, it's sort of a crazy mix of V Twin and IL4, it's like the love child of a Ducati and an R6.
Only thing I would say about it, is it's noticeably more thirsty than the S1000RR.

  3. I'd like to agree but.... After ordering the upgraded rocker covers and 2 sets of revised seals only one rocker cover turned up.... That was 3 weeks ago..... Still waiting for the 2nd rocker cover and a set of exhaust gaskets.... Not a total loss as the hyper has been great fun in this hot spell we're having at the moment plus..... It gets no where near as hot as the rsv which did surprise me.... Sitting in hot traffic the hyper doesn't budge past 3 bars.... Impressive... I can feel a Poole bike night coming on soon.... Providing I don't get knicked again....

  4. I've just seen this thread. I had an HP4 and sold it after a few hundred miles. The big plus is the e-suspension for road use. Feels a little strange at first because the rider body feels things differently to what the eye sees if this makes sense. the HP4 obviously has hyper performance and it handles superbly. Max lean angle is probably better due to the 200 profile tyre, lighter wheels so quicker turn in but not too sure if it feels faster than the S1000RR. Now here is the downer. I think the quality of finish with the paintwork and particularly the plastic parts are shocking for a bike with this price point. The switchgear quality is very poor, feels like weak plastic and just about to break. Ignore all this and it is a good all round hyper sports bike and yes a better ride than the S1KRR.
Very happy with my 899P and while it is so different to the HP4, I find the quality and finish so far ahead of the BM. Hope this helps
