Go Pro Or Drift Ghost

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by phoenix, Apr 26, 2014.

  1. Looking for a decent camera if anyone's considering selling there's at a fair price.
    Cheers

  2. getting a drift ghost s myself today , hope it is the one to have

  3. Ghost easier to fit and less intrusive, BSB onboards look good enough, but GP seem to produce the best pictures

  4. I use a Contour HD myself, came in a lot cheaper than a go pro. Comes with various brackets so you can mount it where you want. I mount mine on a helmet bracket. Quality is awesome. Its also waterproof etc. 1hr of 1080p HD footage only takes up about 4gb on a memory card on it (think i put a 32gb card in it), I just copy it straight off after each ride out onto my pc.

  5. I have a Go Pro HD that has only been used a handful of times and is as new, could let you have it for £110 posted.

  11. There's no doubt that the GoPro offers superb picture quality (and slightly better than the Ghost), but there are 2 really practical issues that make the GoPro inferior to the Drift Ghost/S:

    1) battery life: the GoPro battery life is woeful - often 45mins or less. The DriftGhost battery lasts upto 2.5hours of continuous recording (set to video tag so it's always recording video, but only commits to memory file the tag you want). If you use the camera to take photo stills, not video, then the Ghost will last the better part of an entire day/ride out.

    2) remote control usage: the Drift Ghost remote control is a model of simplicity to use, 2 big buttons, colour LEDs to tell you exactly what mode you are in without having to guess. Great for when you don't want to fiddle with the actual device mounted on your helmet/other remote part of your bike.

These 2 factors alone make it a winner over the GoPro for the normal user in real life. If you are a TV studio sponsored by GoPro and have a gaffer to replace all the [free] batteries every hour, then the GoPro makes sense. In all other circumstances, the Ghost wins.

  12. There is an alternative to both ;)
