I'm ashamed to admit I went to a BMW dealer this morning for a test ride on the above. I have been reading so many good things about them and had a few people say how great they were I had almost convinced myself that a change was due. Mangnificent bike, very clever, very powerful, lot's of electronic wizardry to make you safe with all that power. The only thing I didn't like was the sound, which was very wimpy, but I was assured this could be fixed with the right aftermarket silencer. Very impressed and nearly made the move. But as I walked back to my 999S sitting in the car park, a little grin started to spread across my face, and when I started it up and let the Termis say what they thought the grin got bigger. About half a mile down the road all thoughts of Bavarians had exited my little head. Not sure what it is, but Italians reach places other bikes just can't get to.
I test rode the K1300r a while back and thought it was fantastic. Fitted with a quick shifter it breathed fire on the up change, frightening car drivers as I over took them. Made my then s4rs monster feel very timid.
I did consider a k1300 instead of the multi. For about 4 seconds. Ballistic no doubt. Comfy and low seat too. Easy too up. Bought a multi
Bike will go next year, end of warranty and I'm pretty pissed at the finish so wont be keeping it, missus now starting to come out so will need to take two up, got at least 9 months to think about it yet. May be another...or may not
Yeah it's a difficult one. I've owned 3 other ducs before deciding on the multi. Test road bmw, triumph, Kawasaki. Was thinking of changing the brand for the sake of it, then I came to my senses. But after this one? Who knows.
