Need Hint, How To Put Rizoma Reservoir On 1098

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by calle3, Jul 25, 2014.

  1. The bracket says it fits ct025/ct027 and your res is a ct127 could that be the prob? I Know the res ad say it requires bracket ct450b or ct454b but perhaps one is for side exiting pipe and one for bottom exiting ?

  2. The ct 127 has 2 pipes in the box. . One for side and another for bottom exiting. . So No problem there. I didnt by this bracket it followed the bike. . In a box never mounted brand New. I think maybe its a wrong bracket for my ducati. . I found some Kits for 1198 ..And its a way different bracket. .. But I thought maybe some in here has managed with this bracket

  3. Ahhh... Bit of a pain! Sorry i cant help ya mate

  4. The bracket is mounted under the fork yoke so you need to fabricate some sort of mounting to go underneath the yoke that the cylinder can bolt into. The least obtrusive would be to have a threaded spacer made up and then welded to the yoke but it's quite a lot of work.

Another option is to drill the yoke and mount through it but that is a bit messy. There maybe more practical ways but I am basing my answer on the photo of the mount without any knowledge of the yoke or how practical the job might be.

Some 9** series race bikes used the drill through the yoke method some time ago when fitting radial master cylinders and remote reservoirs.

I hope this helps a bit.

  5. sorry, can't help you with the fitting but those reservoirs look the business! when the time comes to change mine, i'd defo go for them. seen them on a couple of 848s.

  6. thanx.. bettes. Ill try that

  7. Hi Calle3, yes I do have the same brackets on my 848 & they were a pain in the ass to install but I figured out a very easy solution...put the brackets upside down & your problem will be solved!
I went out & took a couple of pics for you so that you can see how they will go on without any drilling or other modifications but straight forward!
