916 breather valve slight leak?

  1. Hi I have my first 916 which I love but I've noticed that after I've been out for a blast there is a small amount of what looks like oil seeping out from where the breather valve sits on the crank case. Does anyone one else have or had this problem? What is the fix? I'm stripping the bike back to frame in the winter giving it a full rebuild so am I alright to carry on riding untill then and fix leak during rebuild? It's only a slight leak more of a seep, any advice would help
    Cheers

  2. Its a common fault on the earlier bikes (Later ones had a plastic one piece unit). I took mine off cleaned it and used some thread lock before refitting, seems okay now tho.
I would only be concerned if the spray is on the frame/shock imo

  3. Cheers for that so remove, clean and thread lock, there's something to do this weekend

  4. Does the crank case breather valve just screw out?
