Supercorsa life?

  1. Have done about 2000 miles on these, plus a trackday.

Have a trip to Spain coming up in a couple of weeks, they look ok to me, but not sure they can do another 2000 miles?

  2. youve done well. when i shod my MV with a pair if these i got about 1800 miles until i saw canvas.

  3. No way.......you're very lucky to have got that distance out of them. We used to wreck a pair in one Free practice session at Brands.......

  4. Blimey! Unlikely to get much more out of them then..

Actually considering some Diablo II's for the trip, have them on my CBR and they are a great all rounder, albeit without the ultimate Trackday grip.

  5. If I'm doing a continental trip I stick a hard rear tyre on, like a Pilot Road, and keep the sticky front.....works well and still lets you thrash it round the mountain roads !

  6. That's not a bad idea, supercorsa front, Diablo rear....

  7. Just change them in Spain. Use the net to figure out where you are likely to do it.
Spain is so far down the pan that I can't believe tyres wouldn't be a lot cheaper there than in the UK. Then you can get a few more miles out of them without a needless tyre change.

  8. Glid, I once rode the length of the Pyrennees......and in preparation for that fitted a new set of brake pads up front.......3 days later I was looking for some more, and in Spain...not a chance.....had to cross to the French side to get some.....

  9. That tyre will probably last couple hundred if that..and like others under 2k on mine and they are shot, well the front can be after 1500 if its summer and nice days

Although Kim got nearly 3500 out of a set on his 1098, god knows how!

  10. Yes, you'd want to research it before you went. If you could make it as far as Andorra.... But that would be the only reason to go to Andorra, which is a hideous concrete khaki that is pretty much one giant supermarket.

  11. EXCEPT Glid......that the road going up from La Velle to the French border is one of THE ROADS YOU MUST RIDE before you die........

  12. My SP's that came with my bike lasted great!

    2 trackdays and 4000miles!

the racetec's on now seem to be getting on even at 1000miles :/

  13. I did the only sensible thing I could think of, booked myself into a trackday at Brands and spent the today finishing them off good and proper. Right side of the rear is now well and truly mullered and I got my money's worth

  14. Tyre life is so dependant on how you ride that it's pointless asking anyone else what mileage a tyre has left in it. You only have to read this thread to see a wide variation. You're the only one who can answer the question really.
