Anyone fitted R and G crash bungs to SF S ? Do they fit using engine mounting points? Easy to do yourself? Thanks Steve
Hi and thanks. Spotted a nice S at JHP - 09 model, in mint condition. Some reviewers say handling a bit "challenging", have found it so? Would have fitted R+Gs anyway!;-)
I have the R&G on mine, they were fitted by the dealer but I've seen the instructions and looks easy.
Ruffs The 09 S model is what I have. The only handling issue I had was related to the surge of power at 2.5K revs when the Lambda valve opens. I had the engine re mapped and this solved the problem. Fit a set of Rosso II's these are better than the corsa IIIs. DRFS
I take it it's the black one? I looked at that but ended going for a red SFS which was a little newer (it had to be for financing reasons) but it's in lovely condition and well worth the money, mines only 6 months newer. Id first suggest looking on Ducati MS site & Ducati world (blackies) as there's loads more info on there than there is unfortunately on this site......although we could change that with a few stickys so perhaps we should Only to mine a couple of weeks ago but it's been in bits since having things fitted, polished etc First thing will be the right hand side peg/heat shield will get on your nerves I suspect, that's an easy fix, I've bought some Oberon footpegs which give better grip than the stock pegs but also stick out a tad longer, you can then either buy a Rizoma 2 part heat shield which is far more minamilist than the stock one or do the MOD (see other forums FAQ's) I'm trying the rizoma first. Regards to fuelling some are apparently better than others, I'm lucky to have the DP ecu & termis but even then it won't be butter smooth (it's a twin) However you can then do one of these from what I gather : PCV for SFS now has a O2 manipulator and allows mapping below 5k on a closed loop system (ignores the lamdas) - check with dynojet uk to make sure I'm right in assuming that ECU remap by a few guys in the UK - can map your existing ecu and also switch off stuff like lamdas but also alter quirky stuff like when the fans switch on etc Ducatidiag - ECU flashing software developed by a French chap I believe that many have used, you buy the software and some cables and can do 'most' of what the ECU uk remap guys can.....however mapping a bikes fuelling is mainly done by importing a pre done map but I'm told the UK guys can actually custom map using their software Yep..... I think we need a decent FAQ section, I'll hopefully gather the details if I get time
Thanks for reply Damodici. Yes it's the black one. Read about footpeg probs, so will address that one, heat shield too. Other stuff sort of out of my understanding, so perhaps time to find out! Will ride it for a while and see how we go. Would be good to have few more resources on here relating to SFs. Please keep us updated on your mods, sounds great. Best Steve
I have these - worked well in a slow speed off the other day Even came with a shot glass and small bottle of Jagermeister Metisse - Motorradzubehör Frame Slider X-PAD With 7-Time Impact Absorber
As I understand the Lambda is s a probe that measures the gasses and to meet emmissions starves the bike of fuel at low revs. I had it also deleted from the software so it runs richer lower down. There is quite a difference and the bike hunts much less and picks up cleaner off the throttle low down. I found the original tyres ok and rode on them (not too hard) at Le Mans for a couple of 20 mins stints. Didn't slide but but had the DTC light up a few times (level 3). What are the diffence between rosso 2's and corsa 3's I might try some sticky tyres next time and do a day or two on the track with it. They could make a really good track bike especially on tighter tracks when max speed is say 130 to 140 mph. I think I shall also invest in some sliders, which are best GB or R&G? Greg
Ducatidiag is a mate of mine and he did my bike. He sells the software and with the leads you download your bikes software to your pc, do your mods ie delete lambda, make it x % richer, modify the text on the rev counter to what you want, no i didn't put 'ride me hard big boy'..... ;-) etc etc. It works really well.
