Quick survey. Please answer this ONLY if you have a dim glow on your indicator or neutral clocks / Dash / speedo LED cluster when another LED is lit (low fuel or high beam etc). PLEASE IGNORE MY EARLIER QUESTION.... I feel that Tramadol may have changed my early memory of my motorcycle. I was sure that when the ABS kicked in the ring around the information LCD flashed Blue. I can find no trace on the web nor in the manual. Thanks for checking, sorry for any concern or distress caused. Original Post below. Q: Do you still have a Blue ring indication around your multifunction round LCD display? To Test Upon switch on (red button down on the right hand switch gear down) all segments of the dash indicate and the rev counter rises to full deflection. During this 2 seconds or so the ring of LEDs around the multifunction display (normally shows riding mode, mpg temperature etc) flashes red and then blue. Are your blue LEDs still working? Answers in this thread please together with your model, bike year and mileage. My goal is to fully understand why these speedo / dash / clocks fail.
May 2010 Sport, 21k. My "ring" has never flashed anything but red - oo'er Missus When you fire the ignition, all the idiot lights flash up once and the high beam (blue) is just above the ring of LED's - that's the nearest I get to what you describe? I get the "glow" but it is worse when the weather is wet/damp.
OK, mine did work, but at some point stopped. If I can collect more data I may be able to predict where the fault lies. With some luck we may be able to repair the clocks without opening them.
Blue ring? What blue ring? I've never seen anything but red. My neutral light glows dim when any of the other warning lights are on and occasionally I've seen it flash dimly in time with the LH indicator.
AirCon as others seem to have clarified my bike, like theirs has only ever shown red around the circumference of the instrument panel and all other LED's only function as and when necessary. But then I have had my clocks replaced under warranty about 18 months or so ago!!
Previous: 2010 touring Current: 2012 touring (regd dec2013) Don't recall seeing blue LEDs on either. Just been out to bike, and definitely no blue LEDs coming on.
Mine is a 2010 ABS and as I said above I've never seen any blue LEDs. I spoke to friend with a 2010 S Touring and he's never seen any blue LEDs either. There is no mention of blue LEDs either in the owner's manual nor service manual. Aircon, have you perhaps found some function that has never been implemented?
ACT as the song goes, "when I get older losing my, dum de dum dah"...... what the heck is the rest of that damned song again
I'm getting dim glow intermitantly on a couple of lights (left ind/oil light) so far, only lasts a few miles then goes off.
If under warranty register the compliant immediately, as it's a £700 repair. That said it is only annoying and not functional. I have heard of dash "going mad" in which case you would need to replace them.
