748 748 Side Stand Bracket

  1. I've just had the side stand on my 748 give way. Turns out the mounting bracket has completely snapped. Being aluminium this is never going to last. The lean angle when the bike was on the side stand was always a concern and this does seem to be a common problem. I've heard that a 996 or 1098 side stand assembly would solve this problem and be a straight swap. Any advice on this would be appreciated .

  2. Mine was leaning way over so I got an 848/1098 one and it is a lot more upright!!!

  4. Yeah 2 bolts. if you have a paddock stand it takes 10 minutes :smile:

  6. I also fitted one from an 848 and i like it too :) was always on the brink of falling over without a block of wood underneath it

  8. Are you sure the bracket is aluminium? The stand mounting bracket on my 916 is steel.
