749 Termi Or Not ?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Wardy53, Sep 21, 2014.

  1. Hello folks, new to the forum. Just got my 749 , says it has a termi end can. How can I check it is one. Just the tips seem standard size to me. Sounds a little louder than standard,is there any numbers or markings I can check. ?

  2. It will have Termignoni stamped on it with not road use somewhere on there too

  3. Termi ovals outlets will be approx 80mm x 30mm - standard much smaller with Ducati stamped on the side of the box.

  5. The Termi is riveted, the standard can is welded

  6. Thanks lads! Deffernatly standard on my bike them. Was told it was a termi end can. Gave me what I thought was the standard can, but it's almost identical to the one on the bike. Well the outlets are & it's got ducati written in the same place.

  7. Get it from a dealer?

  8. No, private. It's going back Wednesday. Full refund.

  9. Well done - I bet he said he didn't know ;)
If the bile's good why don't you get enough cash back to buy a system off Ebay

  10. Bile? Sick of this already:)

  11. Termi or not Termi, that is the question... o_O

It is quite possible that the standard can is made by Termignoni meaning that 'technically' the seller wasn't lying? Some of the 996/998 models were and even had it stamped onto them, I don't know about 749 though?

  12. Refund?

    Good luck with that.

  13. Sounded like it's all arranged?

  14. Who knows. I must admit to being stung in a similar way in the past when buying. Never again.... I hope.

  15. Seems a little strong considering it's only a exhaust pipe although I would totally understand if it was a yellow bike!

  17. It depends where the yellow is, 999 Ducati's should be Red, not Black or Yellow. 998 Ducati's should be Yellow - they simply look better in yellow ;)

  18. +1 - what Exige said (but then I'm biased, as my Red 999 ws delivered tonight...)

  19. Yes full refund was given, the guy was genuine as he took it as a part x & was told that it had a termi end can, anyway. Now have a gorgeous 2005 749 with full titanium system & ecu all properly set up on the dyne with all paperwork to prove. I've come off jap 1000 bikes & this 749 does go really well compared. I'll try post pics. Thanks for the info lads.
